Summary

It was supposed to be Christy Sullivan’s perfect Christmas escape - a dream trip to Lapland with her family and best friend, Alix. But facing a make-or-break marriage crisis, Christy desperately needs time alone with her husband, Seb. Her solution? Alix, along with Seb’s oldest friend, Zac, can take Christy’s daughter on the planned Lapland trip, and they will all reunite there for Christmas Day. After all, what are friends for?

There’s nothing Alix won’t do for Christy, but Christy’s plan to save Christmas is testing their friendship. Especially as Alix and Zac have a difficult history of their own.

As long-held secrets unravel, and unexpected romance shines under the Northern Lights, can Christy and Alix find the courage to fight for the relationships they really want? And could this Christmas escape save the precious gift of each other’s friendship?

I’ve got a sweet tooth but this is ridiculous!

I usually really like Sarah Morgan books , one of my favourite authors to listen to but this one I think was written by someone completely different! The story is easy enough to listen to to while away the time on car journeys but this is really just far too saccharine sweet . The characters are very obvious and the same things kept going on all the time. Every single thought the Alex character had was hammered to death and the theme kept going round and round. It’s just as well you listen on your own as lots of it is embarrassing and cringing….
The narrator also has the most annoying voice to sound like the 4 year old ….
I wouldn’t recommend, sadly….

Ridiculous story, completely unbelievable

Awfully slushy, unbelievable story with odd narration. Not quite sure why I kept with it until the end. Wouldn’t recommend and how on earth it got onto any bestseller list I have no idea.

Not festive at all

Although this was listenable, purely because of the narrator…the storyline was very lacking…..virtually nothing happens.
Just a couple of incidents from the past that gradually get added to with each retelling.
Not festive at all. I was very disappointed

Touches your heart

This is a lovely book and brilliantly narrated too. Such vivid imagery is conjured up and packed with tiny snippets that touch your soul in so many little ways. Thank you

Lovely story generation not so much!

A lovely Christmas story to get lost in but I have to say I found the narration very annoying it seemed everybody spoke in the same overly plummy voice especially for the child LOL totally got on my nerves but never mind good story anyway
