About this listen
On the shores of Lake Erie sits the enchanted little town of Chancellor where fairy tales live, dreams come true, and happily ever afters always reign supreme. In this three book boxed set, you'll find a heart-warming collection of sweet romance fractured fairy tales. From mermaids to witches to faeries, the residents of Chancellor are far from ordinary. Enjoy these twisted fairy tales loosely based on The Little Mermaid, Cinderella, and classic witch tales.
The Glass Mermaid: Kate, the last mermaid, is back on the shores of Lake Erie waiting for the last ounce of her mermaid glamour to leave her. She has nothing left to live for...until the day Cooper says hello. Cooper, who has returned to Chancellor to live out his final days as cancer slowly destroys him, has given up on any hope of love. He has nothing left to live for...until the day Kate says hello. All life is as fragile as glass. What would you sacrifice to save the one you love?
The Cupcake Witch: When Julie inherited Serendipity Gardens, a rundown bakery and nursery, she never could have guessed it would bring her the two things she wanted the most: a chance to follow her bliss and meet the guy of her dreams. Too bad that guy has plans to level her bakery, turning her dreams into a paved paradise. They say the course of true love never runs smooth. That's nothing a magical cupcake can't solve
The Bee Charmer: What if your fairy godfather was too busy falling in love to help you find your soulmate? Rayne moved to Chancellor on a mission to help Alice find true love. That is, after all, his job as her fairy godfather. What Rayne didn't expect was to find a love of his own. All Viola wants is to pursue her dream of becoming a perfumer. She doesn't have time to fall in love. Viola and Rayne will soon find that when your heart makes a wish, even impossible dreams can come true.

Fairy Tales
I enjoyed this collection so much. The fairy tales where so realistic. The three books in this collection are all entwined together. Each one gave a little more depth and look into the town of Chancellor. I highly recommend for anyone who enjoys Mermaids, Magic, and Fairies with a dash of romance.

3.5 enchanted STARS
This book is for you if… modern fairytales appeal to you in their slow burn and steamy flirting character. Not overly sappy, this audiobook is a lovely companion for daily tasks and errands.
⤐ Overall.
The title of this collection says it all: Fairytales. Fairytales indeed but not over the top. All of the short novels were sweet and enchanting, with just the right amount of sappy. You will meet a mermaid, a kitchen witch and a bee-whisperer, all of them finally meeting their HEA. I loved the author's attention to details that added to the overall dreamy atmosphere of the book. Well rounded.
Characters. This aspect is the one that let me down the most and tempered with my reading experience a lot. Usually, fairytales have a bunch of diverse characters with multi-faceted, interesting motives. During book two, I had the suspicion substituting the names of the hero and heroine of each story with any of the other stories would feel like reading the same thing all over again with a different plot. They were so similar and indistinguishable.
World(-building). Surprisingly, I fell into step with the story quite quickly. It took close to no time to see the town of Chancellor with its many old houses, the lake, the grove and the water mill in my mind.
The arch of suspense. What you would expect from fairytales: rushed by normal standards, but just right for fairytales.

Magical, romantic stories, beautifully narrated.
My review is actually for the audiobook of this collection, published under the name of Melanie Karsak.
The narration is excellent. Easy to listen to, very different voices for each character. I found the children’s voices slightly weird (in The Glass Mermaid), but other than that it was spot on.
The Glass Mermaid:
This was a beautiful story, which I thought was going to be horribly, horribly sad, but luckily turned out not to be. It’s about two people who have lost everything finding one another.
The Cupcake Witch:
This one was good fun, though slightly saddened by both main characters having recently lost their mothers to cancer. But lots to like, discovery of magical powers, falling in love, overcoming difficulties, bringing a family together.
The Bee Charmer:
This story luckily has no one dying or recently dead of cancer in it, or only peripherally. For this reason alone, it has a more cheerful, settled tone than the previous two. I loved the idea of a “fairy godfather” who communicates with bees. A lovely, charming little romance.
Overall, this is a fun set of magical, romantic short stories, beautifully narrated, and rather whimsical.
I was given a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Magical Series
I loved each of the books in this series. The town of Chancellor is charming and inviting. A place that could easily be called home. I loved the townspeople and their meddlesome but loving ways. Each story follows a couple and their journey to finding love. Their tales were sweet, heartwarming and fun. If you love bit size stories with a bit of magic then I think you might enjoy these.
The narrator did a fabulous job.
