About this listen

I’m not boyfriend material.

If a trail of broken hearts and a piss-poor record of failed relationships have taught me anything, it’s this. My buddies are happy to give me shit about my latest breakup from here to next Sunday. Thanks, but I’d rather have a root canal.

And a vasectomy.

At the same time.

Relief comes in an unlikely package - the gorgeous and feisty Maren. She just so happens to be my best friend’s sister, so that’s not awkward at all.

But I’m a man on a mission, and Maren is down to teach me all the ways I’ve been failing as a boyfriend. Apparently, there are many. And it’s all very informative - until I start to catch feelings.

Now it’s not just my reputation on the line, but my heart, too.

Fun, flirty, and sexy

3.5 Stars

This was a cute and fun story, as you come to expect from Kendall Ryan. It had some fun banter and lots of sexy time. I was a little disappointed that the story didn't really relate to the blurb, I sat there waiting for Maren to teach Hayes how to be a better boyfriend and it never came. But otherwise, it a great. Hayes’ grandma was fantastic, I love her and her little side story, it gave an added feel to the story.
I loved Maren, but I have to say that Hayes annoyed me a little, and I found myself telling Maren to cut her losses and go find someone worthy of her. His back and forth was giving me whiplash. And the way he behaved was made worse by the lack of reaction by Wolfie. So it felt all for nothing. This story is on the sexy side, I mean, Hayes is part owner of a sex toy shop after all. I think I would have liked a little more story and communication between Hayes and Maren. Things felt rushed between them in the bedroom, and I never really felt this amazing connection between them. But they had chemistry. The side characters were funny, and I enjoyed the banter between them all. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

Sebastian York played the annoying and cocky character of Hayes well. And Erin Mallon was fabulous as the sweet, Maren. Both transitioned well from each character, and for the most part kept the character voices unique. There were a couple of instances were Wolfie did sound a little different during Sebastian’s pov but that may have been interpretation. The production was fine with no issues of note.

The last 45 ish minutes of the audiobook is the first five chapters of The Bedroom Experiment. Performed by Jason Clarke.

Great audio!

🎧 AUDIO REVIEW 🎧

BOOK 🌟🌟🌟🌟
AUDIO 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

First of all loved the audio for this one as usual, the voices and way it flows made me listen start to finish.

I enjoyed the book, the way they wanted each other but didn’t tell and the push and pull. I hated how part of there story went but glad resolved very quickly. Her brother wanted him to check on his sister a lot but I found when his sister part where they she never heard from her brother etc so thought it was odd. If he was so protective you think we would have had that.

Looking forward to the other books in series to see where each guys story ends.

HE TRIES NOT TO FOLLOW HIS DESIRES 🥰

I recieved this book for Free to Give My True & Honest Review

I also brought the audio as it was due out at the same time & the narration by Erin Mallon & Sebastian York brings Maren Cox the younger sister of his best mate Wolfie, since they were kids. And Hayes Ellison has kept his feelings buried by sleeping around with any girl.
And its not until he decided that he's going to Give Up Women. And he's there always for Maren like when he's called to check on her when she didn't go into work, but its all to do with an accident by hot wax 😅
Maren has been feeling the same deep feelings for Hayes for just as long & as Strong.
And we see alot go on for them during their time here & it getting more open when Maren is wanting help with an event to have an auction to help save her work place the nursing home Riverside where her grandfather stayed prior & what she loves.
But its NOT JUST them whom finds someone with the help of Riverside 👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨👫

Not my fav but still good

Not one of my favourite Kendall book but it is still a good book!
I agree with other reviews that the story doesn’t particularly match the description - it said “Maren is down to teach me all the ways I’ve been failing as a boyfriend. Apparently, there are many.” which made me think Maren might act in the role of a teacher/mentor, maybe have a fake relationship, but this wasn’t the case.

Narrators were great, who doesn’t love Sebastian York, and Erin has a lovely tone.

All round, a pleasant listen, would happily listen to or read it again

Boring

Bad narrators. The girl narrator read too fast and with no feelings... at least that’s what i think.
