Summary

For DCI Gillard, sometimes old sins cast long shadows…

Under a motorway flyover lies the body of a young man. Days earlier, he had been involved in an altercation with DCI Craig Gillard's pregnant partner Sam. Now he's dead...

Meanwhile, something is brewing in the criminal underworld. Whispers of a big job have reached the Met's Flying Squad. Something is going to be stolen, and soon. Something worth 500m.

But what? And where? And how does it relate to the body under the overpass? It should be a simple case: stop the burglary, crack the gang, find the murderer—but for Gillard, once again it's personal…

Fast-paced and utterly unputdownable, the next installment of the DCI Gillard series is perfect for fans of Robert Bryndza, Stuart Macbride and Faith Martin.

Good story

Good story, narration not as good, a little irritating on women’s voices. Hard I’m sure as there are a lot of women n the story. It didn’t spoil the story, once you get used to the voices.
I do love this series though, it won’t stop me downloading the next in series.

Marvellous complicated plot exceptionally well performed

Marvellous complicated plot exceptionally well performed. The distraction is the amazing stretching the credibility twists.

Narration

story ruined by poor narration. Especially the womens voices. Some of the accents were bizarre. Pity Jonathan Keeble wasn't the narrator

Another fast paced clever book

Nick Louth manages to keep the pace with many twists and turns. The narration is as usual excellent with so many voices and characters all distinct and different. Have races through all the previous books and can’t believe I have only one left.
