Summary

When the body of a man in 18th-century Highland dress is discovered on the site of the Battle of Culloden, Journalist Rebecca Connolly takes up the story for the Chronicle

Meanwhile, a film being made about the '45 Rebellion has enraged the right-wing group Spirit of the Gael, which is connected to a shadowy group called Black Dawn linked to death threats and fake anthrax deliveries to Downing Street and Holyrood.

When a second body - this time in the Redcoat uniform of the government army - is found in Inverness, Rebecca finds herself drawn ever deeper into the mystery.

Are the murders connected to politics, a local gang war or something else entirely?

Loved the first book

Douglas Skelton's book were recommended by another Scottish author and I am so glad I checked his first book in this series out, its a bit different to the normal crime fiction I listen too as the main character isn't a detective but a journalist Rebecca is a very likeable character and will go to lengths to find out the information she needs, I will certainly go on with the series. The narration was very good.
I also loved the history side of things

A GREAT STORYLINE

I recommend this Author and his works to anyone who is considering listening...the performance by Sarah Barron brings all the characters to life...before starting to listen though, I'd recommend you phone in sick...or take the phone off the hook...

Excellent story

This was the first novel I’ve listened to by this author and I can’t wait to download his others. I thought it was thrilling, complex and it surprised me several times. The narration by Sarah Barron was excellent.
