So happy they decided to create new audio narrative

Alex Wyndham is AMAZING! I love the Mageborn series but struggled to listen to the first bookmark because of narration. I started the series with Mordecai without knowing about the earlier books. So it was a great surprise to see them fixed. You won’t be disappointed! Listen to the series !

Emotional wizardry

Such great voice acting. A story full of suspense. I highly recommend this if your looking for a fantasy emotional story.

Good story

This is a really good story, and it is very well written for an author’s first work. The only reason I gave it 4 stars for performance is that I always prefer Tim Gerard Reynolds, but the narrator was very good.

SPOILER ALERT(sort of)

I almost skipped past this series based on a previous review referring to sexual assault within this book. I won’t go into too much detail, but had the reviewer continued listening, or skipped forward about a minute, it would have been over. And the character being assaulted was rescued. This was sort of a pivotal point in the story, not just some sick fancy from the author. Not to mention that many authors are far more graphic and grotesque while writing a sexual assault scene.. This is not to say that sexual assault should be taken lightly, but justice was served and the woman was largely unharmed.

Lastly, I feel I should mention, the same review mentioned the author’s cursing. I would like to point out that the cursing is primarily in dialogue, and the main character of this story is a teenage boy (those things tend to curse). Thus I really feel that the cursing within this story should not be used demerit the author. As I said earlier, I feel this story was well written, especially considering this is his first work. I can’t wait to see what else he has to offer.

No one mentioned the sexual content in their revie

Full disclosure and a little bit of spoiler info: I only got a few hours in,there was no disclosure in any reviews I read that mentioned a sexual assault (not sure how far it went because it was at that point I turned it off. So I can't go into full detail on that. ) What I heard was enough. It was the last straw for me. I tried to overlook the excessive swearing but come on , it really isn't needed if you have an author with such amazing ability and it appeared to me, to create a story like this. Sir, It's a waste of your talent.

FAR too much unnecessary sexual content. Especially given the fact that he is only 16 years old...

The concept of the story itself seemed like it would have been great. I just wish authors had the realization that not everyone likes to read books filled with sex and swearing.

Not my taste in books.

ehh very basic to the point of being boring

I'm 5 hours in and it's a struggle to finish. It's very predictable. The wanted to really like the story because it has a lot of potential. I honestly think the antagonist shouldn't have as much time in this book and it should have focused on character story and development.
