Summary

If you can't trust your family....

A family at war. A mother who comes out fighting....

Maureen Hutton's life has never been easy. Married to an alcoholic and stuck on a council estate in East London, she scrimps and saves to bring up her three children alone.

Murder, the underworld, drug addiction - over four decades Maureen sticks by her blood through thick and thin. But then the unforgivable happens. Maureen is told a terrible secret which threatens to rip her family apart. She can't say anything. She is too frightened of causing a bloodbath.

The only thing Maureen can do is to get rid of the betrayer before it is too late.

Another great book from Kimberley chambers

I'm a real fan of Kimberley chambers and this is another great listen.
You get to know the characters and real invest in them as they come to life.
I also love anything narrated by Anne Aldridge. She's an excellent narrator!!

simply brilliant!

love Annie aldington narrative skills and her cockney accent really helps set the tone. The story it's self is a good one with lots of twists and turns, just like you would expect. I do hope there will be a follow up to this book.

Profanity totally unnecessary

The story jumps here and there which leaves me confused as to what the story really is.
However, my main complaint is the supposed need for such bad language. Yes, it is a sign of the times unfortunately, but I don’t believe it is necessary in an audio book.
Generally disappointed with this choice and sadly I can’t return it!

Good book

I really enjoyed this book. there is alot of the c... word. But based on the storyline it goes with the characters. I have read books by Kimberley before and this one lives up to her skills as a author.

another brilliant book

I read some of the negative reviews, and was not going to buy it. the racist part at the hospital when jonny was a bit hard to hear, and unfortunately very true.

Good

Not riveting. A variation of the usual theme. Just enough bite to keep you chewing to the end.
