Obvious stuff, nothing new here.

Just states the obvious. It tells you the obvious stuff you SHOULD be doing. And all about writing down goals, etc. Nothing new here.

Triggering

This is an old approach that does not reflect the most current research on neuroscience. It’s essentially a make your self do it with out getting curious about why doing it is hard.

Very little substance about how to develop self discipline did you life. Seems like the story was more about going to therapy,

No content

This book does not provide any insights into how to improve self discipline. All the ideas are obvious truths that everyone already knows, but may have problems implenting. Advice on how to manage to implement them? Just do it. Dieting? Use you will power! (doesn’t say anything about how to get more will power) Need to save money? Just spent less! Procrastination? Sett yourself a reminder on your phone! Need more self discipline! Basically the author is telling you: Just get more disciplined. Thanks for the help. Duh.

Good Ideas: less showing more telling

They ideas and concepts are short and brief. Would have like more examples or scenarios of what worked for people and what didn't. Maybe thoughtful critiques? While the ideas are direct I find them basic and dull. I have trouble with discipline and have tried similar suggestions. Overtime I've found them boring and less meaningful. I wish additional resources were provided for further follow up and development. Vocal performances was good clear and direct- easy to follow and understand. Would recommend this a a complimentary source to other materials. Othetwise just Google the art of discipline you'll most likely find the same things discussed!

Short but informative

While this book is short it does cover some good topics. I feel like the main areas they focus on are good coverage on people's main issues. The information is pretty basic, and I feel is covered in other books or articles regarding self discipline. The book did pose a few different questions and views which was nice. overall it was a good listen and hopefully sets someone up for success. I'm gonna try to implement their 30 day challenge and reassess after.
