Summary

A missing girl...

The manipulative aristocrat, Marcus Dreadbury.

A local gangster with a drug-dealing problem.

The Manor's locked room, with a dusty handle.

Stables, but with no sign of any horses.

A subterranean stream.

Marcus' madcap father.

And a Manor-House full of surprises.

Trench and Old Tom must somehow make the connection, if they are to succeed at playing find-the-lady...

A bit of indulgent fun.

This is a very light piece of fun done by some talented narrators. I love Kevin Theis’ version of the Jeeves audiobooks and this is in a similar vein. If you would like a lighthearted mystery that is very amusing, this is a great choice.

He's happy being miserable.

Short, silly and great fun. When a reporter falls for Marcus Dreadbury, proprietor of Strasburg Hall, her partner accompanies her there on her shooting weekend invitation, fearing foul play. With the gangster, Sawn Off at the gathering, and suspicions of watered beer at the Dock and Pheasant, this is a delightfully old fashioned romp.
This Armchair Detective has a talented narration in the style of the cartoon characters of Danger Mouse, a blustering Upper class English, by Kevin Theis and Sarah Nicholls, and a background track of music and sound effects. The whole is a rattling good fun delivered in just forty five minutes.
