Story
Everyone in Vallen knows that ice wolves and scorch dragons are sworn enemies who live deeply separate lives. So when 12-year-old orphan Anders takes one elemental form and his twin sister, Rayna, takes another, he wonders whether they are even related. Family or not, Rayna is Anders’s only true friend. She’s nothing like the brutal, cruel dragons who claimed her as one of their own and stole her away. To rescue her, Anders must enlist at the foreboding Ulfar Academy, a school for young wolves that values loyalty to the pack above all else.
Summary
A special middle-grade debut of magic and courage in a world of witches.
Arianwyn has flunked her witch's assessment: she's doomed. Declared an apprentice and sent to the town of Lull in disgrace, she may never become a real witch - much to the glee of her arch-rival, Gimma.
But remote Lull is not as boring as it seems. Strange things are sighted in the woods, a dangerous infestation of hex creeps throughout the town and a mysterious magical visitor arrives with his eye on her.
With every spirit banished, creature helped and spell cast, Arianwyn starts to get the hang of being a witch - even if she's only an apprentice. But the worst still lies ahead. For a sinister darkness has begun to haunt her spells, and there may be much more at stake than just her pride...for Arianwyn and the entire land.

An exciting read + great narrator choice!
It certainly did not disappoint! A struggling witch who is sent to work in a quiet village, expecting disaster to strike... Great adventure with a potentially sinister twist. With lots of mystery and excitement this is a story that you won't want to put down until you have read the whole book -- the narrator brings everything to life in this gripping story!
