About this listen
"No strings, no rings." That's Luke Archer's motto. As the champion quarterback for the New York Empire - not to mention a self-made billionaire - Luke has given up on serious relationships. Women only want him for one thing: the thrill of being with a superstar. And he likes it that way too. But when his best friend announces he's retiring from football to spend time with his wife and kids, Luke feels like he's missing out on something much bigger than his career.
The assistant concierge in Luke's luxury high-rise, Miranda Tate fled her family's dairy farm to come to the bright lights of New York City. She works hard to move up and sends her spare earnings home to her brother. When she and Luke meet, there's an instant sexual attraction which turns steamy quickly, but they're in completely different leagues. Could Miranda be just the woman Luke needs to win the most important game of his life?

A feel good read!
I really enjoyed this audio book. id5read the 1st in the series a while back and then found this on Kindle Unlimited with audio included.
Luke and Miranda's story is sweet and not laden with silly miscommunication and misinterpretations. They have moments of confusion but for the most part they resolve the issues quickly by asking questions to clarify. The main misunderstanding happens at the end but Luke can take the blame for that!
The family vibe with Miranda's family balance out the angst with Luke and Trevor.
Really, this is an enjoyable read.

Low angst romance
NH does an excellent job of making the characters 3-dimensional, which meant I genuinely cared what happened to Luke and Miranda. Luke's struggle to reconcile the fact his NFL career was coming to an end and his realisation of how much he'd given up in his single-minded quest to be the best was very moving.

Loved it!
I got the first in this series and enjoyed it so much that I'm now going to work my way through the rest of this authors work.
I also thought that the narrator did a good job with the different characters and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this book to any lovers of romantic fiction.

Great second book
This was as good as book 1 which was a nice change as lately I have been reading series's with a strong first book but a weak follow up. I loved the part where you had all these big strong footballers on the farm. Roll on book 3

Fantastic series
Book two of the Wagers of the Heart series by Nancy Herkness.
After the guys make the wager to find love in 1yr or give up something irreplaceable to them Nathan from first book ends up with Chloe and this makes the wager heat up between them.
Luke lives in a swanky hotel with a concierge that is then called to a meeting by his brother and the concierge boss. There he meets Miranda.
Thing fly very quickly between Luke and Miranda but I no part do it feel rush through story.
I love that Luke is a aging charter back and she helps he realise there’s more to him then he realises but also that he helps Miranda realise she has more to offer.
Loved this book and so looking forward to writers book and if he can find love and get rid of his writers block too.

Throwing away love isn't a quarterbacks best tactic
Pleasant enjoyable read. Not a mind bending story line but interesting enough to keep the readers interest. Written at a good pace, without any side padding, was one of the books best features.

Oooh another great story by Nancy Herkness
As this is the second book in the Wager of Hearts series by Nancy Herkness and the second book I've tried by this author.
I'm totally hooked, not to mention the refreshing vocal talents of Lauren Ezzo.
A brilliant combination bring on the third.
