Summary

The instant Sunday Times bestseller

Funny and outspoken, Rylan is one of the UK's most-loved presenters and a true household name. Rylan first emerged on our screens in September 2012 and in the 10 years since then has become a one-of-a-kind national treasure.

In this brand-new memoir, Rylan invites us deeper into his world to reflect on all the things he's learnt from a decade in the limelight, whilst also pulling back the curtain on his personal journey. Covering everything from fame and celebrity to mental health and identity, family and relationships to his love of reality TV, he recounts his life lessons with humour, candour and a huge amount of heart. From the moments that have shaped him to the mistakes that have made him, and the unusual pastimes that have obsessed him along the way.

With unforgettable stories about his pursuit of fame, his biggest regrets and his special bond with his beloved mum, Ten: The Decade That Changed My Future is as warm and honest, enormously entertaining and full of surprises as its brilliant Sunday Times best-selling author.

This is Rylan as you've never seen him before—an intimate, fascinating and joyful insight into an extraordinary 10 years on the telly and in our hearts.

Wow

So I may have listened to this whole book in a day…yes I’m blaming the fact that I’m stuck in bed with covid (how 2020 of me!) but I could not stop listening. As heart wrenching as it is hilarious this book is perfectly read by the author and intertwined with snippets from some very special guests. I loved the Big Brother and Eurovision insights especially. As much as this book is a memoir it is certainly filled with some great life lessons, tips and motivations. A fantastic book that I can highly recommend, I wish Rylan every success with it (and hope that he still isn’t in trouble about taking the bins out)

Mostly filler

The first chapter discussing the breakdown of his marriage was heartfelt. After that, filler.

wouldn't recommend

I like Rylan a lot so I don't feel great about leaving a bad review but to be honest ... I really felt I'd wasted a credit on this one.

I was intrigued because the sample had him speak honestly about being unfaithful to his husband. I thought his honesty would make for an interesting book full of genuine ups and downs but I found that after the first few chapters when he'd finished talking about his infidelity and the aftermath, the rest was just pure filler. Boring stuff about what he likes to cook and how much he loves each of his workmates and how they're all such characters got really boring for me. Or the part about one time the paparazzi took a bad photo of him during a boozy night out and making him look bad.

I just thought it would be a bit deeper than that since that is how I perceived it to be when it was advertised. The main thing I really hated was the regular "funny" interruptions from his mum. It's the same schtick as on Gogglebox but I just found it really repetitive. The whole "TV persona with their outrageous parent" dynamic is pretty old now. It just kept going in the book and now it just seems so put on and boring.

I like Rylan and his mum seems nice but the book was a disappointment for me. Just seemed like a bunch of filler to sell a book really.

love him presenting on telly tho. wish him the best.

Ridiculously likeable!

I must admit, when Rylan burst onto the scene 10 years ago, I wasn’t his biggest fan but if he doesn’t grow on you like a pink, fluffy mould, then you have a heart of stone. I finished this book wishing we could be friends! So well done, Rylan but an even bigger well done to Ross. Keep being as sweet and genuine as you are.
