Summary
You’ve heard the story about the wedding planner who falls for the groom?
Well, this is the one where she falls for his father.
And that groom? He’s my ex.
I didn’t realize who the gruff, gorgeous older man was the night he rescued me from a creep in a Manhattan hotel. All I knew was that a hot, bearded stranger with a protective streak showed up right when I needed a reminder that real gentlemen still exist.
(Although he left his manners behind after asking me up to his room.)
It was the hottest night of my life, but I never thought I’d see the former Navy SEAL again.
Imagine my surprise at the rehearsal dinner one week later, when my handsome stranger is introduced as the father of the groom. Even more surprising? What we felt in New York was no fluke.
In public, we pretend there’s nothing between us.
In private, we can’t keep our hands off each other.
The situation is beyond complicated. Zach never even knew he’d fathered a child until recently, and he wants to earn his son’s trust and respect. As for me, I’m looking for a man who wants to start a family, and Zach has made it clear he’s not that man. He’s older, newly divorced, and he lives across the country.
But no matter how many times we draw the line, we keep crossing it.
Nothing so wrong should ever feel so right.

What would you do if you fell for your ex’s dad?
Millie and Zach meet in a NYC hotel bar when their flights get delayed due to bad weather. They spend the night talking and getting to know each other, and things heat up from there.
Things get extra complicated though when they get back to their lives and find out that Millie is Zach’s (newly found) adult’s son’s ex! Although they try to stay away from each other, it proves difficult to do as Zach is invited to his son’s wedding and Milie is the wedding planner for said wedding!
Harlow’s writing definitely made me fall so hard for these characters and their romance! It’s the chemistry and the tension for me!
I loved the audiobook of this! Narrated by Sebastian York and Lucy Rivers, I had such a great listening experience! Both narrators did amazingly and reflected what I imagine the characters to be!

Delightfully Charming & Steamy! Fantastic 🎧 📚🎧
Melanie Harlow pens another fabulous novel, one grabbed my attention right from the start and captivated it the entire time. I am not sure how this was my first visit to Cloverleigh Farms, I only know I loved the small town charm and that it is a place I am looking forward to visiting again, the characters are amazing, the type of people you want to be friends with and get to know. Millie MacAllister, an event and wedding planner, was in NY on a business trip and was stuck there another night because of her cancelled flight and the passing storm. After a call with her sister, Winnie, who convinced her to get out and enjoy herself, she heads to the hotel bar for a drink. She eyes a handsome guy across the bar, but as luck has it, the guy next to her creeps her out and she gets ready to leave, but not before that handsome stranger comes to her rescue. Zachary “Zach”Barrett, former Navy Seal, currently working security, just finished a job in NY when he stopped in the bar for a drink and when he saw her she was everything the admired in a woman. The two hit is off and spend a memorable and very steamy night together before heading back home, he to San Diego and she back to her home in Michigan. He gave her his business card, and she could not get him out if her mind and contemplated calling him. Zach thought of Millie as well, but he has other things going on in his life, like the possibility of having a grown son, Mason Holt. The same Mason Holt who Millie dated and was currently planning his wedding at Cloverleigh Farms. When Zach goes to meet his son and his future wife, he sees Millie again, but not wanting to complicate things, he wanted to keep their affair to themselves. Problem is Millie and Zach can not keep their hands off of each other and the time they spend together is their last time, which turns in to several last times since neither can resist the other. I loved the layers and complexity of this wonderfully plotted story, it has the perfect balance of drama, charm, heartfelt emotions and some steamy romance. I loved watching Millie follow thru with her dreams of opening her own business, and how it won’t be a cookie cutter shop like most. Melanie Harlow, thank you for this amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, the wonderfully talented Lucy Rivers and Sebastian York were the perfect cast to bring these characters and story to life. I loved how they take each role and make it their own and how believable they are in every role they play. They set the perfect tone for the story, capture all the character’s emotions and project them into their performance. These entertaining storytellers are versatile voice artists and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another amazing listen.

Plenty of temptation, very little resistance ❤️🔥
Tempt was a surprisingly low drama story considering all the complications involved. Millie and Zach have a lot of strikes against them from the start. He's much older than her, they live in different cities, and oh yeah...he's her ex's Dad.
The age-gap played well in this story because it forced a lot of realistic conversations for Millie and Zach. What does a future for them look like? Do either of them want a family? Can this really be more than just a fling? I really liked the fact that Millie genuinely loves herself and doesn't consistently question Zach's feelings about her body over and over. From the beginning he told her how much he loved her body and from then on it wasn't even brought up again, which was great because so often I read about the curvy girl who questions herself and her partner repeatedly because she just can't believe he would actually like her just as she is. I love the confidence and full acceptance of each other. I didn't quite get the strong feeling of "we can't do this" I'd expect in a forbidden romance, but this did provide us with some fun and sexy rendezvous ☺️
The narrators were very well cast for this book. SebYo was Zach. I'm not sure I could picture anyone else for this character. Lucy is still pretty new to me. I have a lot of her work in my library but haven't really done much yet. She was so good as Millie and her huge family, and her performance gave us really good range and variety in her choices.
Overall I enjoyed this audiobook experience, and it really just made me want to start all over again from the beginning with Frannie and Mack.

Love visitng Cloverleigh Farms!
I love visiting Cloverleigh Farms and Melanie Harlow has penned a wonderful, taboo listen, one that is spicy, a little angsty and so good! After being stranded during a hurricane, Millie finds herself entertained by an older, military looking man. He has saved her from being hit on, only to find himself attracted to her and the two have a wonderful evening. As a wedding planner, she travels to different locations bringing her magic to each event. Flying to her friend's wedding, she finds herself in quite a predicament. Her friend is an old boyfriend, and she is planning their day, only to find out his father is the man she spent the night with. Zack has not stopped thinking about Millie since their night, but now things are complicated. Will these two give in the their attraction or be able to keep to themselves? How will everyone react if they come out? I love this story for a couple of reasons. It's a wonderful story of instant attraction, one that is not set in tradition. It's spicy! It's original and I love the complexity of the family plot. It's a great listen and wonderful small town romance at one of my favorite places.
Sebastian York and Lucy Rivers. I don't need to say more about these fantastic narrators. They know how to bring a story to life and make me feel like I am right there in the thick of the story. I loved them together and enjoyed this amazing listen.

💕Do it.💕Sometimes a dream won’t wait.💕
‘I’d found love—the greatest plot twist life has to offer.’—I love this line & the sentiment behind it is a perfect description of Tempt! It’s full of fun, passion, plot twists, and courage.
Millie makes some huge decisions and she shows how courageous and forward thinking she can be. She has dreams and enough passion to make them a reality.
Zach has to make some pretty tough decisions as well. Luckily for him Jackson MF Cole {YASSS that Jackson Cole😍} is one of his closest friends and gives him some pretty good advice 😑
I love that Millie has made Zach want to fight for them. I love that he is open to a life he never imagined before with Millie🥰
***audio edit***
Sebastian & Lucy are perfect as Zach & Millie. Millie is just so enthusiastic and Sebastian’s tenor leans to Zach’s age & grumpiness 😍
💕fave quotes 📖
“Do it. Sometimes a dream won’t wait.”—-love this 💕
“This is so sweet, Dad. Thank you. I’m less nervous with you at my side.” He smiled. “I’ll always be here for you.”—-awww Mac💕🥲

Loved loved loved it!!!
Millie McAllister thinks she's cursed: her last three boyfriends found their forever love right after they broke up. She's still friends with all of them and she's even the wedding planner for the last one, who's about to get married to the girl she introduced him to. Her sisters think she needs to go out more and meet people, so while in NYC on business, she decided to put on the red lipstick and head to the hotel bar. Too bad she attracted a creep. That's when the older, super hot, bearded stranger she had her eye on comes to the rescue. They end up having a scorching one night stand and, even though he left her his card, Millie doesn't think there will be a chance for them to meet again. Well, that's until he's introduced to her as her ex's dad at the rehearsal dinner!
Zach Barrett had no idea he had fathered a child and he's trying to navigate this new fatherhood when he sees the woman he can't stop thinking about and she's his son's ex! Oh heck...
I absolutely adored this book! It had been a while since I read a Melanie Harlow and this one one is soooooo good!
I loved that Millie is a very secure plus size woman but issues that plus size women go through are very present in the story. Zach is one tall drink of yummy silver fox! The age gap is not bad (She's 32, he's 47) and I just love them together and I rooted for them all the time.
I'm a sucker for series and interconnected stories and this one is even interconnected with Corinne Michaels's books, as Zach works for Cole Security and Jackson and his family make several appearances! Loved it!
Narration: I had already adored the story when I finally listened to this audiobook, I was in auditory heaven. Casting was key here. We all know that Sebastian York is a powerhouse and can do anything, but when he's cast in the perfect role, a role that is tailor-made for his deep and commanding voice, it's perfection. No one could do a better Zach. It's swoon worthy. I love Lucy Rivers and she brings the sassiness and the vulnerability you expect from Millie. Pick the audiobook, even if you, like me, have read the book. You will thank me later!
Rep and possible triggers: FMC is plus size. Mentions of death of a young sibling

A delightful surprise
I went into this book expecting one thing and came out completely blown away. This book is perfect. It made me laugh, swoon, cry… all the feelings. This was also my first Melanie Harlow book, but DEFINITELY not my last! 11/10 recommend.

Spoiler Alert
I’m always a bit creeped out when people in the same family have sex with the same person. With that aside, I still liked how Zach’s and Millie’s relationship developed. I felt the story was left a bit incomplete. While there’s no cliffhangers there were some things that weren’t completely wrapped up. Perhaps there’ll be a story about the twins where Zach’s and Millie’s family situation will be addressed. I liked the series and recommend. Ignite is my favorite. The kids are hilarious.

Millie and Zach
This book was pretty good. After Millie and Zach meet in a bar where he saves her from a creep, they have an unforgettable night together. They meet again and they both find that he is Millie's ex's father. It gets awkward fast and they do not want anyone to know. They try to stay away from each other, but they fail each time. Given their ages, they would sneak to see each other instead of growing a backbone and tell each other how they felt and Zach needed to tell his son. At times they both acted like kids. Sebastian York and Lucy Rivers did a great job with the narration.

Not enough romance
I enjoyed Lucy’s performance but her male character voice is silly and distracting .
I also didn’t really care too much about her career ambitions , but overall the cloverleigh next gen was enjoyable to listen to !

Disappointed
The story was good could’ve had a little bit more of a bang of a ending. Have a hard time with the female narrators male voice love Sebastian New York, felt like it could’ve been more passionate in a little bit more risqué or sexy I guess in their intimate moments.

4⭐️
•age gap
•ex's father
•former Navy SEAL
•plus size FMC
•one night stand
•small town romance
Millie is a confident plus size FMC who is a wedding planner. While she is away on a work trip she meets Zach in the hotel lobby bar. Zach is an ex-Navy Seal who is working in private security. They have a wild and crazy one-night stand or so they thought.
Millie and Zach bump into each other again at a rehearsal dinner and realize that Zach is her ex-boyfriend's dad and she just so happens to be planning his son's wedding. 👀👀
This was a new trope for me to read, it was forbidden/taboo and I loved it! There was so much pinning and angst. They tried to stay away from each other but can't hide that they have a connection. I loved that they would sneak around and hook up in different cities!
When they talked on the phone >>> 😮💨🥵🔥
The spice between them was great! Zach has a dirty mouth and isn't 👏🏼afraid 👏🏼to use 👏🏼it! He made Millie feel even more confident and desired. I loved that!
“You’re my north, south, east, and west, Millie Rose. You ground me, you guide me, you inspire me. And I’m madly in love with you.”
Zach is a softy when it comes to her! Ugh my heart!! 🥺🥰
Also, it was so nice to side all the side characters again from other books in the series. I love the sisterhood and friend group that this characters share.
Melanie Harlow makes it easy to fall in love with small town romance. Cloverleigh Farm is a great series to dive into if you are looking for quick reads with spice and a little bit of every trope sprinkled throughout.
