About this listen
On their first day of training with the Metropolitan Police, new recruits Jamie, Bunny, and Tina are asked to join a team of undercover detectives, a secret unit involved in the long-term penetration of criminal gangs. Their target? One of the world’s biggest drug dealers: Den Donovan, alias "Tango One".
To close in on their quarry, the three must go back into the outside world and become criminals themselves. But someone within the Met is pursuing an alternative agenda. Someone who has deliberately put their lives on the line.…

Engaged right from the beginning.
The story was not overly unusual however I found it thoroughly engaging. From the start I started to feel a surprising affinity with the main character. Well written and executed.

Gripping Leather is so good at taking you along at a fast pace through several channels at a time with very believable characters

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Not really
Any additional comments?
Kept my interest throughout but I was really disappointed with the ending.
The narrator is ok but his interpretation of the main characters voice becomes a little annoying after a period of time.

Compulsive listening
Stephen Leather at his best. Three would-be police recruits, instead of going off on their first day of training at Hendon college, are persuaded to live a different life and act as undercover agents to pin down a wanted drug dealer, otherwise known as Tango One. Although the story may be far-fetched, it's compelling and so compulsive that I couldn't switch off for the last two and a half hours as I had to know how it ended! The narrator really helped it along and handled the various accents professionally.Great entertainment!

I found it took a while to get into this book but when I did I was worth the purchase. A strong story a bit slow at times but very enjoyable
