Summary
The long-awaited fifth novel in the action-packed Wyatt Storme series is here!
Former NFL All-Pro Wyatt Storme and ex-CIA assassin Chick Easton are fishing on the Lake of the Ozarks when gunmen blow by them in a boat, chasing a determined woman seeking justice for her family. Wyatt and Chick save the woman and are swept into a violent battle for control of a new casino and all the riches and power it will bring. The Kansas City mob, the Dixie Mafia, and the local syndicate have them out-numbered and out-gunned, but it's the gangsters who should be worried. There's a deadly storm coming...and his name is Wyatt.
Critic reviews
"The perfect storm of witty banter, clever action, and compelling mystery." (Reed Farrel Coleman, New York Times best-selling author of Robert B. Parker's Jesse Stone series)
"Ripley once again delivers sustained suspense, a corkscrew plot, and a plethora of evil-doers, in a perfectly executed thriller." (William H. Lovejoy, author of Trigger Happy)
"Ripley ably juggles humor and violence. Those looking for a testosterone-saturated romp will be satisfied." (Publishers Weekly)

Non traditional in a great way
Not quite a vigilante. Certainly not a cop. Our hero gets involved, triumphs over evil (most of the time) and introduces just enough comic relief to keep a murder mystery from getting too dark. Oh, and there is plenty of shoot outs, car chases, and more creative action too!
I liked the character and had no trouble appreciating the whole novel despite it being the only one I’ve read, snd it being well into the series.
Narrator is great with tone and pacing.
An easy and entertaining listen.

I really enjoy this series. Entertaining, action packed, and pretty funny at times. If you're looking for a new hero (and sidekick who makes it even better) then you should definitely give this a shot!

Another solid entry.
All Wyatt Storme wanted was a little rest and relaxation...but then when does Wyatt ever get what he wants? What started as a little fishing trip for Wyatt and Chick ends in murder. This is the 5th book in the Wyatt Storme thriller series. I must admit I've missed a few, but have enjoyed the heck out of the ones I have read/listened to. While I still enjoyed this one quite a bit, but I must admit I thought this one moved a bit slower than some of the previous entries. Of course that might be because I thought this one had a complex story line, but I wouldn't have minded a little less talking and little more action, but overall it was still an excellent adventure and Wyatt and Chick are an awesome duo. J Rodney Turner returns once again to perform the narration and as always does an excellent job. His voice is perfectly suited for these characters to the point then even when I'm reading the books I hear his voice in my head. I was given a free review copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Excellent listen!!!
This book!!!! Man!! Okay, first off, apparently this is the fifth book in the series. I listened to the first two books and I'm screaming that I somehow missed two others. That will be rectified today!!
This listen though, oh man, it was non-stop action and each and every minute was riveting and insanely good. I started listening this morning and did not stop until tonight. I couldn't stop. I kid you not, once I heard Turner's voice, I got giddy and my day was set.
Wyatt and Chick are soooooooo good. They are the ying to each others yang. And they can rock the comedy. I thoroughly enjoyed this listen!!!!!
