About this listen
One disaster bi single dad. One sexy plumber on a house call. One hot-as-hell romance.
Rhys
If I was a hot mess before becoming a single dad, my life’s pretty much an on-fire garbage can now. Okay, maybe that’s a tad melodramatic—my bestie/baby momma/ex-girlfriend is still awesome, currently in the throuple of her dreams. And my kiddo Sammy’s amazing, albeit exhausting. I’m the one who’s too intense and rambling, too obsessed with random trivia, too liable to set dinner on fire. Essentially, too much for any relationship.
However, when a hottie plumber drops by to fix our toilet—thanks, Sammy—and gives me his number? My luck might just be turning around.
Cole
After my dad moved to a retirement community, he left me with the big, old house I grew up in and a whole lot of loneliness. I thought by now I’d be settled down, but no one’s looking for the guy who likes long hikes with his dog, stargazing, and fixing shit around the house. They want fun, entertaining, flashy—not me.
Except when I give Rhys my private line for an emergency house call, I show up for the job to discover it’s a date. It seems like I might’ve met the one man on earth who’s just as interested as I am—if only we can find the guts to admit it.

I loved it! So sweet!
The meet cute was really funny and endeared me to both protagonists right away. And their first date made me love them even more. I was really rooting for their happily ever after.
Rhys was a bit chaotic, rambled when he was nervous and was always told that he is "too much " by everyone in his life except his best friends.
Cole just wanted a simple and quiet life and was always told that he is boring.
Both men had a lot of insecurities but they helped each other grow and realize that they were worth the best. It was beautiful to read.
The two of them were absolutely adorable together. I was honestly smiling the whole time I was reading this book. They just warmed my heart and made me happy.
And my God their chemistry was explosive!
The found family theme in the book was also wonderful.
If you are in the mood for a sweet, no angst romance that will definitely melt your heart I highly highly recommend "Sweat connection ".
The narrator was amazing, I really loved how he voiced the characters. He brought this amazing book to life.

Low angst easy listen
Dylan gives heart to both men's characters and makes it an easy and enjoyable listen throughout. I think there could have been a little more variation/individuality in each man's voice but I still got their insecurities and attraction for each other.
What a wonderful start to a new series from Katherine McIntyre! Give me a single dad romance and I'm first in line for it but it's also a low angst, opposites attract story with both men wary about how they may not be good enough for a new partner.
Rhys is a fast paced, single dad with a lot of mental energy but is also quite a mess as he is forgetful and darts from one thing to the next, often suddenly and with no clear path. Luckily, this is something that quiet Cole finds adorable and completely attractive. Rhys in dad mode even gets him hot under the collar, which is another area that they are perfectly matched in. I can honestly say I wasn't expecting that level of intensity and heat between them but it just feels natural and like they were meant to be together for that and everything else.
Their unofficial first date is amusing with wires getting crossed but it turns out perfectly and shows them what is possible with each other. There are a lot of fun and sweet scenes, especially if they include Rhys's son, Sammy, with a couple that has each man worrying about what they perceive as their shortcomings that may keep them from having a relationship. It's thanks to meddling friends and family that things move forward and bonds are made between them all making a wonderful and eclectic found family group. I can't wait to read more from this group.

Overcoming communication issues
Rhy is a single dad dealing with a toddler. Sammy, the toddler, flushes a toy car down the toilet causing problems. Rhy calls a plumber to come resolve the problem. Cole, a plumber, finds himself attracted to Rhy so he gives Rhys his personal phone number. There are a number of issues both have to deal with, Rhy his son and ex that he gets along with and his insecurities. Cole, his dad and his loneliness. There is a lack of communication but the attraction is strong. Very sweet story.

Loved the story. Wish I had brain read it.
Wow, Rhys is ready to get back on the horse after breaking up with his baby momma. The moment he sees Cole he's all over it, essentially dying of thirst. Cole is getting over some big life changes of his own and is learning how to make life work. Between dates that are confused as work calls, being stealth nerdy and Cole falling for Rhys as hard as Rhys is for him, this book was ultra quick and a total pleasure to read.
Light k!ink in the last 1/3 of the book. Cole is bossy and Rhys is super into it.
The Narration - 😬 1.5 speed felt normal paced with intermittent chipmunk. I had a difficult time differentiating the characters because the narrator used the same voice/inflection for both MC's.
The audiobook edition has loads of repeated lines. Last line of the book repeated 3x. The editing was a little bit of a mess.

Great Story & Listen🎧 Heartwarming & Steamy!
I have lots of love for this book, my first written by Katherine McIntyre and I enjoyed her writing style and the fabulous story she created, a story that grabbed my attention right from the start and captivated it the entire time. The characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with, it was easy to care about them too. Single dad Rhys has some plumbing issues thanks to his adorable son, Sammy, and calls a local plumber to help clear his pipes. He was not expecting a hunk of a guy to show up, Cole, and when he gave him his number to call, he did just that. I loved how these two wind up getting together for their first date. The chemistry between them was smoking hot, and it was great to watch them get to know each other and watch their relationship grow and morph into something more. I also enjoyed getting to know the characters and learning their backstories. This heartwarming and wonderfully plotted story has the perfect balance of drama, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. Katherine McIntyre, thank you for this great story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 Dylan Rockwell did a great job bringing these characters to life and story to life. He understood the characters he was portraying, giving each their own voice, making it easy to follow along and tell who was who. Rockwell set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. He is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for the great listen.

Low angst story
Rhys has an adorable little son who made Rhys have to call a plumber. That's how he met Cole. I thought their getting to know each other and their first date was pretty sweet.
The author has a wonderful writing style because I could immediately empathize with the protagonists. She has described the family's everyday life in a wonderfully realistic way.
Rhys and Cole are very different, but both have some insecurities. I loved how their relationship developed and how they supported each other to bring out the best in each other.
Overall, Rhys and Cole are adorable together and they have explosive chemistry! What I also liked were the side characters.
If you're in the mood for an angst-free romance with a single dad, an emergency plumber and a cute toddler, this is the book for you.
The narrator, Dylan Rockwell, was new to me and he basically did a good job bringing the story to life. However, I would have liked him to give the characters a bit more individuality. Then I would have found it easier to distinguish which character he was speaking. Nevertheless, he conveyed the emotions and insecurities well.

MM New Author and Narrator to me
The author was new to me, so I had an open mind; I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this short, witty romance.
We meet Rhys and Cole and Rhys's sweet son Sammy. Great side characters, including Coles's disabled dad. Well-written everyday life experiences. I enjoyed it a lot.
Dylan Rockwell is a new narrator to me, but he was a pleasure to listen to. He was clean and concise. I sped this narration up to 1.20 on Audible, which is usual for me.

Arc audio review
This was such a wonderfully sweet story with some humor and some definitely steamy scenes.
These 2 MCs were so adorably clueless.
The narrators voice was pleasant to listen to. He kept a good pace and expressed the emotions well bringing the story to life. Unfortunately he didn't give the the 2 MCs distinct voices but he did with the son and some of the other side characters. Overall I enjoyed the narration and would listen to him again.

Fantastic story and a great performance!
I was so anxious for this book to come out on audio and I loved it! Rhys and Cole have the perfect meet cute and the book never stops! Katherine McIntyre has this amazing talent for melding heat with a healthy dose of reality. Her characters are real people with real jobs and real lives and that completely endears them to me. Dylan Rockwell is a new to me narrator and did a great job - his voice fit the vibe of the characters really well and he kept me interested and engaged the entire book. Really well done!

Sweet, funny and unexpected!
These two each have their baggage and self esteem issues and seeing them fight these insecurities in ways that are hilarious, heart warming or just avoidance was done so well.
The writing is witty and charming. Fast paced and fun. These characters are lovable and their miscommunication for their first date is hilarious!! The friend group is great too and I look forward to more stories from these loveable and lively misfits!!
