Summary

A dangerous mission. A deadly conspiracy. A daring love.

Jerome Munro has been battling a shameful truth all his life - he is the son of a traitor. So when Robert the Bruce orders him to deliver a bold declaration asserting Scotland’s independence, Jerome knows it’s his best chance to prove his allegiance. When he travels to the Borderlands to gather support for the King, he finds himself entranced by a copper-haired English lass whose determination to serve the Bruce kindles an unexpected attraction. Fearing his desire for Elaine will disrupt his assignment, Jerome fights against the heat between them, but when fate throws them together on a dangerous mission, he must choose between love and loyalty.

Elaine longs for much more than the sheltered life of an English lady. The darkly handsome Highland warrior who arrives at her Borderland home provides the perfect opportunity for her to show that she’s more than a silly, spoiled girl. She convinces Jerome to let her return to the Bruce’s court with him, but when she accidentally uncovers a plot against the King, she realizes she and Jerome are the only ones who can save Scotland’s hard-earned freedom. As the threat spirals out of control, can they unravel the mystery and protect their growing love?

This full-length Scottish historical romance is part of the Highland Bodyguards Series, but also can be enjoyed as a stand-alone novel. Pick up your copy today!

Another winner

Jerome and Elaine...great team. It does get a bit tiresome for all these heroes to constantly be anti wife and/or even love, but I guess that is what makes for angst. Exciting story and nice romance. Loved Elaine's spunkiness! Recommend!

My new favorite in this series. (So far.)

Emma Prince is a phenomenal story teller. Jerome & Elaine’s story displays just how talented this author is. This story is fantastic, enthralling, intense and wrapped up in a beautiful love story with historical facts dancing all through it. I loved it. I also thoroughly love the author’s note at the end of each story. I love learning the history of Scotland and truly enjoy Ms. Prince’s notes. I would be thrilled if she included any books or websites from her research. And a great big thank you to this author for recognizing how important and how valuable a good narrator is. Tim Campbell is by far the perfect narrator for any and all Scottish romance. With Tim Campbell narrating one can day dream for a moment that the Highlander in the story is as sexy as Tim’s voice makes him & he does create one sexy brogue. Love both the writing & narrating. This is a must have.

My new favorite in the series!

Jerome and Elaine are fantastic together. They really do compliment each other well and their love seems to be love at first sight. The intrigue and spying to uncover the plot and who is behind it, only adds to the story to make it a fun, passionate one! worth paying for.
