It is the first in the series called Gate Jumpers. The book is a mesh of things I like. It is set slightly in the future and is about a group of special forces guys that are trying to stop enemies from another dimension. It has Elves, Orcs, Demons, and even annoying Gnomes.

Takes some getting used to

This isn't a normal story I listen to, but I did start to enjoy it. It took me a bit to get used to the narrator but I think I would listen to a sequel

All things to all creatures both human and mythic


The early missions of a new Special Forces team, shades of ‘Starship Troopers’ one of my favourite movies with its tongue in cheek politics and attitudes. Good plot, good characterisation and an unusual mix of species. This book will appeal to forces and ex-forces personnel who will probably enjoy the military banter.
I listened to a free copy of this book on Audible and this is my honest opinion.
