Great Info!!

I have been interested in Stoicism for a few years. I have even applied some of the philosophy to guide my life. However, learning and applying the concepts seemed very tedious.

Very Informative!!

I've listened to a number of books on Stoicism, including Ryan Holiday's, The Obstacle Is The Way and I recommend this little book wholeheartedly. I've been listening to it every day and find it to be one of the best "self-improvement" books I have found. You will not be disappointed.

Good Recourse!!

Beautifully organized. Stoicism is so simple and natural, yet so profound. This is an easy to listen, short book. It lays out a blueprint for living your best life. It neither denies the existence of God nor discourages the practice of religion. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was uplifted and educated by it.

Great One!!

This is an excellent book for those wanting to learn more about Stoicism. It's a great synthesis of some of the great Stoics' writings with easy to understand explanations. I found it very easy to listen incredibly thought to induce. There are practical examples of how to apply Stoicism in everyday life which I found invaluable.

Nice Tune!!

While I am enjoying the information in the book. I am finding that the author makes a point in a paragraph and then in the next is immediately restating that point. At first I thought it might be he just wanted to emphasize the thought, but I don't think so.

Good Recourse!!

We have gone through it twice and found something new each time. We intend to continue to use it as the years go by to remind ourselves that it will be on it we just loom at life through the proper lens.

Got this to help my husband work through a hard time. It's a great book for those who need some guidance and tips on how to take control back from external forces to control your own life. I would highly recommend it.

Good Audiobook!!

The chapters are sectioned into topics for each month. Each day starts with a quote from an ancient Stoic writer followed up by a short commentary expanding on the quote.

Best Book!!

Awesome book. Illuminating. Easy to digest one page chunks. The Stoics were ahead of their time on self-help and Mr. Holiday zeros in on why. Buy this book and help yourself get out of your own way; help yourself banish impulsive and emotional reactions; and help yourself realize the great potential that exists in all of us.

Awesome!!

This is a book of great wisdom, and I appreciate the valuable insights. The explanations of how the quotes apply in today's age didn't always apply to me personally, but I can appreciate the author's goal of applying ancient philosophy in the modern age. The key point to take away in that is that this is a philosophy that applied then, applies now, and will probably forever be relevant.

Must listen this book!!

Some points I especially liked are that we should seek personal transformation on the inside, but continue to look similar to others on the outside. We do not need to give the impression that we have moved on, and no longer care about our fellow people. I also like that it is recommended we occasionally put ourselves through trials, such as fasting, so we can see that this is what we had feared so much, to not have some object of convenience.

Informative!!

I am glad to have this handy book which was a wonderful introduction to Stoic philosophy. Many people may think that philosophy isn't very relevant because it deals with big abstract questions that don't seem to have firm solutions. Well, Stoic philosophy is different. I

Excellent!!

This listens like the Stoic equivalent of a daily devotional book. Lacking patience to keep it open on my to-listen list for a full year, I listen it over several days/weeks. This gave me a better feel for the overall “flavor” of Stoicism, and I’m glad I did so

Very Informative!!

I did really enjoyed the book. The best summary, with a clear focus, on what stoicism is. The best book to “ grab” the philosophy as a way of living...what is more important was that it shows stoicism as something anyone can embrace if it according to his values or if it is willing to have a better life
