My Favourite Star Wars Story

I'm not much of a reviewer but I wanted to write one for this book as there isn't many out about the audiobook at this time.

Performance -
The book is excellently performed by Joel de la Fuenete. I'm very used to works by Mark Thompson's narration since he does a lot of Star Wars books, but I was incredibly impressed by this audiobook. He adds a lot of life to the characters, and made them easily distinguishable. The Ronin and Traveller's voices are by far some of my favourites. Additionally, the SFX and Music always fit very well (minus some of the traditional music being played at a bit of odd times. Not bad, but just not necessarily fitting of the book's more 'old' theme). They added a lot and kept me engaged. A*.

Story -
The story was very interesting. The spin on classic Star Wars meant that it made you a lot more curious about what the world was like, and made you want to continue hearing about the different changes in the lore. The main character has a simple and straight forward goal, but the twists and turns he has to take to reach it will keep you glued to the tale all the way through. He has a very unique situation for Star Wars characters (that I've read of), and it makes you want to see how the Ronin will progress forward.

Overall -
I loved every second of it. My main grievance with the book is the very end of it felt a bit out of place to me, but that's a small complaint with the goal that was set. I would entirely recommend this book to any Star Wars fan.

Good story. Tells of the Sith and Jedi.

In a world where empirical Jedi lords rule, the Sith are the more curious warriors.

A great story!

Interesting and quite different from other Star Wars tales, I would recommend this to those looking for a deep and thought provoking story!

Awful

I purchased this after watching the episode on Disney + which I found very enjoyable, sadly this book is a poor reflection on that and I found myself constantly wandering off the story as it was quite frankly boring

Worthy of the garbage compactor, absolute rubbish.

Terrible story, terribly written, annoying terribly written characters. The story was just agonising to get through. I really struggled to get through this. I found the Star Wars Visions Ronin story on Disney+ really enjoyable. I loved the art style, and the traditional Japanese setting. I was expecting a deep dive into this cultural twist on a Star Wars story. I mean space Samurai... how cool is that. However that isn't what I got. I got trash, and a trip to the garbage compactor. Avoid.

Not for me.

If you like The Last Jedi you will probably like this book as both seem to favour artistic style over content. I didn't like The Last Jedi. 1 star.
