About this listen

Following his good fortune in Pazzio, Lawrence is confident that he is on the path to realizing his dream of becoming a town merchant. One ill-informed business decision, though, leaves him teetering on the brink of bankruptcy and ruin! With no assets to his name - other than the cunning of his fetching traveling companion, Holo the Wisewolf - Lawrence may need to resort to illicit means to put his affairs in order. With all of the merchant's plans hinging on one beautiful young shepherdess - for whose vocation Holo holds no affection - Lawrence's prospects, both personal and professional, are looking grim!

A great story from start to finish

Would have loved different voice actors for different characters, but overall a great experience.

Second Volume better than the First

For a second outing on the Spice and Wolf series, this is a definite improvement on the first - and that was as nearly a perfect one in itself, so I'm going to have to explain a few things here.

This is an important part of the series to be adapted, where the main characters have been through trouble together and come closer, they aren't yet close enough to consider each other a "couple" and this volume helps bridge that gap. I really through J Michael Tatum would have trouble with a few scenes but surprisingly his rendition of walking into the inn's room and having him explain the level of tension in the air was astounding, as was the aftermath of that, it really makes me think he's a talent that should get more work.

On the translation and adaption front, there's not much to moan about either, a few bits here and there that needed to be given weaker explanations and details left out, but overall this was another fine addition, sort of depressed as of (01/12/2022) there's only 1 more volume out and I'll have to wait for the next adaption and then where will I be? I'll tell you, a lot of waiting as this is the 2nd series by Yen Audio I'm 100% hooked on and want all adapted as quickly as possible.
Definitely a keeper
