Summary

When a team of hot, rugged veteran shifters joins forces to protect and serve their kind, nothing could ever prepare them for their most important mission of all: finding their mates.

Listen to the entire Special Ops Shifters series in one sizzling, action-packed collection!

Book one: Daddy Soldier Bear

As soon as I encountered Nikki, my bear went wild with need. But my mate died in childbirth years ago, and as a military trained doctor, I still beat myself up for not being able to save her. I never thought I’d love again. But the way my bear yearns for her now has me thinking otherwise.

Book two: Fake Mate for The Soldier Lion

God, I’ve been craving a mate for far too long. But between my tactical missions with the Special Ops Shifter Force and working my ass off, I've had no choice but to ignore the roar of my inner lion. Until the day a sassy, iron-willed lioness showed up at the Force’s secret headquarters unannounced.

Desire surged through my veins the moment our feline eyes met, lighting every cell in my body ablaze. We weren’t recruiting, but our Alpha reluctantly agreed to deploy her on a test mission - where she and I will be posing as mates. The only problem? I know she’s my one true match. And dating within the Force is strictly forbidden.

Will honor and duty keep my inner big cat from finally claiming what’s his?

Book three: Captured by The Soldier Wolf

I was sent on a covert mission to infiltrate a pack in the Rockies, but once I met the Alpha’s raging hot sister, I knew this mission was going to be a hell of a lot harder than I thought.  She’d returned to her home pack with her little boy after a messy divorce, hoping to piece together a new life. But one night deep in the forest, she overheard my phone call with the Force, leaving me no choice but to take her hostage.

I’ve got to keep my cover and protect the integrity of the mission. But when tensions rise between that hot little wolf and I in the middle of the woods, will we be able to ignore the demands of our inner beasts?

Book four: Christmas with The Soldier Dragon

I’m the only shifter of my kind, never knowing the sense of family that comes with being part of a clan. The rest of my comrades are celebrating the holidays with their mates, and that only magnifies the issue. So when I was presented with a mission to investigate a mysterious case of shifter disappearances around Lake Tahoe, I jumped at the chance to get away from it all. But when I arrived, I came face-to-face with another dragon in the lake. Everything I’d known to be true was suddenly turned on its head, awakening the fire that had long been dormant in my heart.

Finding her was the greatest Christmas gift I could’ve ever imagined. But with threats around every corner, will my dreams of finally having a mate be torn apart?

Steamy shifter scenes inside!

narrative

I found the book good, although I would have preferred a female and male narrators, its always annoying when a man will do a woman's voice visa versa

4 different types of shifters but closely connected

Hang in for the first hour of narration, I almost gave up, but there’s a reason he makes the female sound so horrible. All have really great characters and uniquely different storylines. There was only one sex scene in 1st but they got better & more detailed. I’ve read several of her books & my biggest complaint is that when they shift they do it dressed & return fully dressed, that would so not truly happen. I also like hotter more consistent sex in each book. The narration by Mr Borne was really good & glad I didn’t give up on what I thought was his lack of skill, but he was in character.

Couldn’t do it

I tried to get through the first book and just couldn’t stand it any longer. The story, characters and narration are terrible. What a waste of a credit.

Better than expected

I had low expectations for this book after some other duds of similar genre. Not sure that it doesn’t have some bearing on my review. I enjoyed all 4 books and was quite entertained. As a bundle they were totally worth the credit used.

The individual stories are very exciting!

The highs and lows are plausible within this fantasy world. I especially like how the new mates are woven into part of the Special Ops group. I love how they continue to help the unique needs of shifter-kind.
The ONLY exception is the final story with the dragons. Nowhere are we shown that despite Garrison's growing family and business concerns that the Special Ops Shifter group is continuing with its vital work.
It would have been nice to have a final book showing this new group dynamic within the SOS. Would have rounded out the series nicely and carried the story past the Christmas season and into the New Year.

Weak

I finally finished the first book although I felt that I was listening to a grade school story (except for the final sex scene). Drake & Nikki are both underdeveloped characters & so is the story until the last few chapters. I like HEA stories but this was too much like Cinderella. Finally, near the end, we’re told what Drake does for a living - it would’ve helped to have known sooner. In the final scenes, the 2 MC find love - no building toward any feelings. The sex scene was bland bc there had been no tension leading to it. I’m returning the next 3 stories regardless if Audible returns my credit. I want mature stories as opposed to a hastily crafted fairy tale.

Ft. Carson, CO

As an Army brat, there is an Army post in Colorado Springs too. It actually is right across a highway from the mountains. It is named Ft. Carson and has been there for A LONG time. So, Flint could've kept his discharge papers the same.

A typical werewolf romance

The characters are well planned out, but after halfway through, you can predict the outcome. It was fun and I enjoyed it. The narration was good and added a little flare to the characters. Overall, it is 4 stars. A few more unexpected twists would have been nice.

Wouldn't use a credit for!

This audiobook actually has four books in for one credit on Audible. Though I am not a fan of the narrator, I did enjoy a couple of the books. The first book is Daddy Soldier Bear; this is one that has some very hard subjects to listen too. This is the single parent trope, along with a few other tropes, obviously the shifter trope, there is a suspenseful romance trope to this one as well as the other three. I was on pins and needles for this particular part of the audiobook, this one I feel is probably the most suspenseful of all four of the books. I listened to the sample and thought that this series would be more than what it was, it was still a decent listen for all four books. There were things about each book that I was not a fan of, though each book was okay, I did enjoy some parts of each book.

The second book Fake Mate for the Solider Lion; this book is one that frustrated me for multiple reasons. This book has mulitple tropes like the other three books it has suspense, forced proximity, mates, and a mystery to be solved. However I couldn't handle the way that they two main characters interacted for a good chunk of the book.

Book three was a wolf shifter book called; Captured by the Soldier Wolf, this book was one that I enjoyed a little more than the others, for the most part. Forced proximity, hostiage, single mom and lone wolf tropes are all covered in this particular part of the audiobook. I may have a little bit of a soft spot for this book being set in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I enjoyed knowing a little bit about the locations that were the settings of this book.

The last book is Christmas with the Soldier Dragon, the main reason I waited till Decemeber to listen to this book was because of this part of the audiobook. This was a little different take on the shifter series than the rest, and though I enjoyed it I felt it was lacking a little something and that this book could have had more too it. Having believed that he was the last Dragon it is interesting to see how this man, who thought he'd be alone forever handles finding a mate is interesting.

Over all these books are all a pepper rating of Serrano Pepper, the explict scenes that are in each book are few and far between but might get you a little toasty. For this audiobook I have to rate it at a two out of 5 stars. I really wouldn't have paid for it again. If it was included in Audible then I may recommend giving at least the first book a try. If you like shifter books you may like these, they were just not to my taste.

I hope this helps you find your next Tantalizing Tome.
