Summary

When a disgruntled astronaut decides to get revenge, all hell breaks loose! By the time the final flight of the Russian space capsule, Soyuz, docks at the international space station, Derek Johnson - the oldest astronaut to fly in space - is sick with a severe case of food poisoning that does not respond to antibiotics, and he soon dies. Recruited to assist NASA’s medical team, Dr. Bob Kramer, a forensic toxicologist and expert witness, concludes that the cause of Johnson’s death is a mutated form of bacteria that is not normally found in nature.

In Soyuz: The Final Flight - a captivating, pause-resisting, science fiction thriller - space exploration, mental illness, and forensic toxicology collide at the intersection of good and evil as Kramer unravels the source of a mysterious incident and suspicious deaths aboard the space station.

The book is a finalist for best science fiction novel in the 2018 Book Talk Radio Club Awards and for best second novel in the 2018 Next Generation Indie Book Awards.

Hmmm..

If it wasn’t for R.C narrating i would have turned off a long time ago. So many holes in the story but worth a listen if you have some credits to use.

Loved the over introduction to the characters and how the story unfolds is clever as it keeps you interested. well written and performed by my favourite narrator

Finally finished

Only finished due to the excellent narration once again by R C Bray. Love scenes were terrible and added nothing.

Finished it only because I kept hoping...

The only redeeming feature is the excellent Mr Bray as narrator. This is not science fiction but a poorly contrived thriller that often seems like a nonfiction manual. cardboard characters, deus ex machina resolution, gratuitous bland sex scenes, plot holes galore, etc ad nauseam. Thank goodness it's Audible and I can return it.

Not usually this caustic, but my word, how could this have been nominated for any award?

Awesome narration, but it didn’t make up for a bad story!

I love RC Bray as a narrator, and I often find myself taking a risk on what appear to be average books, just to hear more of his soothing tones as a driving companion.

Sadly, even the great Mr Bray couldn’t compensate for what was a weak story, with a really thin plot! Unrealistic (like someone who is an ‘engineer’ but no one knows which kind, could be on the ISS). It also had a few long parts which were just irrelevant, and seemed like a thin excuse to write in some sex scenes!

You pay your money, and you take your chances. I’m sure some people will like it, but I think it’s a poor story, with a weak plot! Only worth buying if you want to hear more RCB.
