Chick lit meets apocalypse
Mills and boon chick lit meets apocalypse. Gave it a chance to chapter 7 but it didn’t get any better. Not for me.

Mediocre
Thank goodness thjs was free with my membership!
Weak storyline (so many holes), unlikeable/underdeveloped characters, irritating narration. A shame as the premise was pretty good.

Good.
I enjoyed this post apocalypse book, although the story isn't completed at the end - it goes on in the next book. The narration was good.

Sappy
One of the worst post apocalyptic books I’ve listened to. Bad gender stereotypes, stupid characters and bad plot line. Men are cowboys or military. Women are weak and need real toilets in the apocalypse. I gagged at the dialogue. Only sensible character is the teenage daughter.

Very disappointing
From what starts out as a promising new take on the post-apocalyptic scenario the story is sadly let down by the ridiculous main character. More damsel-in-distress than gritty heroine, she frequently congratulates herself on her own courage whilst relying on her teenage daughter and the nearest “big strong man” to come to her rescue. This contradiction becomes increasingly annoying, and at times laughable, as the story progresses.

Meh
Bit silly. Started off very exciting but was silly after that. I’m guessing it is YA which I didn’t realise before reading.

Survival of the idiots
I was sadly unimpressed with how the characters were developing. Minute after minute they were making enough stupid choices and acting like idiots that listening after just a few chapters became painful.
It's not enough that the main character is portrayed as a scared mother miraculously coming up with soldier training ideas but the dynamic between others is out of a bad romance novel.

Incredibly cheesy
This book was dreadful and really a romance not apocalyptic sci-fi. So many flaws and plot holes and it was so bad I thought it must be a joke.
I will listen to almost anything so the bar is not set high with me but this was poor. Idea of the story I liked and the narrator did the best she could with the subject matter. Female characters were weak and male characters were cheesy. If you like Mills & Boon then this will be right up your street. If not steer clear.

not great
a goid premise and started off OK. however lead character is a surgeon; why does she turn into a weakling who has to rely on a man she's just met? disappointing

a fab read
absolutely loving this book, so gripping and full of fascinating things. Honestly wasn’t expecting to read this book quite in the way it is. Fascinating to hear how people are surviving during this pandemic.
