Great audio but quite dark topics so caution is advised
I really enjoyed this audio. The story is a very dark tale of a sadistic man who takes a young woman hostage and uses her to look after his kids whilst violently abusing all of them. As she fights to survive and not to loose all hope it’s a race against time to get away from him before he kills her.

good thriller
This was a solid dark and gripping story that kept me intrigued throughout. I really liked the pacing and suspense, and the author did a great job building the tension. While I enjoyed it overall, I wouldn’t say it blew me away, but it’s definitely worth a read if you’re into darker thrillers.
The characters were well fleshed-out, especially Skyla, who was easy to empathize with despite the heavy and dangerous situations she found herself in. The emotional stakes were high, and you could really feel the weight of her choices. The vivid descriptions of the landscape also added a lot to the atmosphere, making it feel immersive and real.
The romantic subplot blended well with the thriller elements.

Good narration and story
Okay so this is dark but it is really good very well written and narrated. It starts off slow so wasnt sure how it was going to go but I soon so got gripped into the story.
The author warned about trigger warnings and yes there are in those in there but they have to be in there for the story to work. What I felt really gutted about, you can see I got involved in the story, was towards the end dont want to say more but it just made me feel so sad for the children.
I was given a free copy by the author but the review is entirely my own.
