Summary
Officer Sonia Sparrow is an introvert of sorts, spending her workdays on the force, and her off days alone. But lately, it seems she’s acquired a new partner. A dog, that she’s dubbed Slash, keeps showing up at the nick of time to save the day.
Michael Masson, a former Marine, is looking for a quiet life, but he can’t help the desire he still has to serve his country. Having been burned in love once before, he’s vowed to never show his other side to anyone else. Instead, he chooses to spend his life roaming the country and not getting close to anyone. But when he spies the female police officer in trouble, he can’t just sit back and let it happen.
Sonia has been burned in relationships in the past, as well, and if she can’t find a trustworthy man, she’s decided a dog would be the perfect companion to keep her loneliness at bay. What she didn’t bargain for was getting both.
The truth is almost too farfetched, but Michael is determined to make her believe. He hopes this new partnership will not only heal old wounds, but evolve into a deep and loving relationship for the both of them.

This Woman's Best Friend is her Dog
Introvert Officer Sonia Sparrow spends her workdays on the force, and her off days alone and that's how she likes it. After being burned in love she’s decided a dog would be the perfect companion to keep her loneliness at bay. What she didn’t bargain for was getting both.
That is until she is rescued from a dangerous situation by a dog! A big, beautiful and incredibly well trained Belgian Malinois. With the way he responds to her you would almost think he was human. But that is ridiculous, that sort of thing only happens in fairy tales and hot romance stories. Or so she thinks. But sometimes the truth is stranger than any fiction. As in this case...
Her new partner Slash is in fact Michael Masson, a very special former Marine, with the ability to change into a dog. A man who has seen too much and been hurt to often who is now looking for a quiet life but missing a purpose in his life. Until he steps in to save the day and falls head over paws for the gorgeous cop he can't help saving.
Michael finds a home with Sonja but only as 'Slash' and he wants more. much more from the woman he wants to spend the rest of his life with. But can he risk telling her who and what he is [No spoilers here, but he isn't what you think] and have her kick him to the curve or will he have to remain as 'Slash' permanently and spend the rest of his days as his woman's doggy companion.
Maybe he can have the woman and still serve his country but first he has to make a leap of faith and tell the truth and damn the consequences. Is he brave enough? How will Sonja respond? Can he have it all?
You will have to listen to the story to find out the answers. Although I like the book I felt that the narration would have been better served with two narrators but that wasn't enough to stop me enjoying the story. The story was interesting and I totally fell in love with Michael. But who wouldn't. A gorgeous ex marine who turns into a beautiful and loyal dog. My idea of heaven.
I received this book for free from the author and am more than happy to leave this unbiased review.

I really loved this PNR
This book was quite a surprise and a new author to me. I loved the story, the pacing was on point and the romance was just right. Speaking of romance, there's really no heat so it would be considered a sweet romance. All in all, it was a great shifter read about a military vet and a cop whom find love and purpose with each other. Very sweet and just the right amount of PNR. Definitely one-click it!

a great love story
when this stray dog saves Officer Sonia Sparrow life more then once ,she falls in love with the dog that she has named Slash. Wanting nothing more then to make him part of her family and even her partner on the job. k-9 unit is something she things Slash can do, they would make a great team. There is just one surprise Slash is a dog but he is really Michael Masson, a former Marine a shiftter . What will happen when the truth comes out when Slash is shot and needs treatment. i enjoyed this story and it keep me interested from start to finish, i think that Charley Ongel did a great job as the narrator.
