Doesn't teach the techniques.

This book talks about the techniques, methods and what they will enable you to do using these, however, it doesn't teach you the how to achieve any of these actual techniques. This book was written in 1977 so was clearly a marketing tool to get people to sign up the the actual classes. Very misleading and disappointing.

Not useful

I finished the book because I didnt want to waste my buy. It is rather a report of what Silva did, do not provide methods on how to do it by yourself

Magic mushrooms

When I seen this audio book I assumed this was some form of psychology self help book instead it turned out to be a mystic Meg crystal ball bag of hot air. Anyone who takes some positivity from it more power to them. However this is like NLP on magic mushrooms…the fictitious or non fictitious 3 characters referenced in the winning lottery example and softly alluding and joining the dots that it was a result of the mind control techniques that were deployed gives you an insight to how ridiculous the ideas are.
For those that are reading - I did last until around chapter 13..then I packed it in!

Extraordinary and life-changing

This is a powerful, thought-provoking and potentially life-changing text. It is a privilege to have it read aloud to me. The readers are excellent - a pleasure just to losten to.

Contrary to the claim of one of the other reviews, this book does teach the basic techniques of the Silva Method. It also patiently explains the accellerated benefits of taking the actual course (which is currently £600, hence this audiobook is pretty good value for money!).

A sales pitch for a Micky mouse course.

Complete nonsense. it's a book about how much people enjoyed 'the course'. Almost no practical instruction and of little benefit to the reader.

Unfortunately there is a little bit of explanation about the Silva mind control and after that ONLY example of cases where people use this method and it worked but nothing else! Not interesting as I was expecting

Started Interesting, then boring half-way through

Wouldn't recommend. I optimistically purchased with the desire to learn something new. After the first couple of chapters, the narrators voice and delivery became distracting. The story was no longer keeping me engaged. Though I may finish this in the months ahead... it will be when I have nothing else to listen to.

Although somewhat interesting, I was waiting to be told how to open my mind to the Silva Mind control course and be wowed , instead I felt I was being given snippets from a drawn out advertisement to draw me in to pay for a course , this was not what I was expecting at all. I would not recommend. In my opinion I felt this was a advertisement.

It's basically a long advertisement to take a mind control course.

I saw a course listed on Mindvalley that sounded interesting and figured the book would have most of the pertinent information, it had some exercises listed and described in a cursory way but the majority of the book consisted of case studies and anecdotal examples that seemed designed to convince the reader that the techniques were legit. The tone feels dated and overall it seems designed for an audience who has never heard of meditation before. I'm sure there is a way to present the techniques in a way that is updated for a contemporary audience but as the book repeatedly reminds you, it's really better if you take a mind control course.

One other note, one of the techniques had practitioners project their minds into the bodies of other people without their explicit consent which seems ethically suspect. I'm sure a more updated version of the book would resonate more deeply with contemporary culture. I'm bummed I wasted an audible credit on it.

This book is just a sales pitch

this book contains stories of results of the seminar program and none of the program itself. it is nothing more than a sales pitch to get you to attend the seminar.
this book is a con job and a rip off.
do not buy it!

BASICALLY AN INFOMERCIAL

I looked forward to getting my monthly credit to get this audiobook. I heard it discussed and it sounded positive. The reality is you will learn basic terminology and not much beyond that point. The audiobook sounds like a flat out infomercial. I wish I could return it and get my credit back. You're better off downloading Dr. Seuss. #facts

Book felt like a promotion to a Seminar

The book offered few examples and fewer step by step how to accomplish mind control. It does drive you to a seminar / in person training. However, it does provides a getting to know mind control.

Not what I was looking for…

This book is more a description of “the marvelous things” that can be learned in the Mind Control Silva Method Program which you need to attend later on. This guys have learnt a lot from Kiyosaki and friends…which are more busy talking about the other things they have to sell, than giving away the knowledge with the current product/service you are consuming.

Third time reading

I love this book so much, it’s concise, instructive and doesn’t give off a new age woo woo vibe. Nothing wrong with those vibes, it’s just refreshing to hear a more scientific approach to mind/energy/frequency control. I’ve listened to the audiobook three times now and just ordered the hard copy.
