Summary
If She Only Knew
Calamity James can see the dead, but that doesn’t mean she likes it.
Calamity James, a reluctant paranormal detective, returns to her hometown for the first time in 10 years to attend her aunt’s funeral. When the local sheriff blackmails her into helping with a missing persons case, Cal can’t say no. Using her unique gift, sharp wits, and even sharper tongue, Cal flirts with death to solve the case. In Red River, the dead talk, and Cal is the only person who can hear them.
The Darkest Secret
After weeks of struggling with life in a small town and her new job as a special deputy, Calamity James finally sinks her teeth into a case. The Red River Junior Beauty Pageant is underway, and when a teenage contestant ends up dead, it’s up to Cal to find out what happened. The ghost girl is convinced she’s been murdered, but Cal isn’t so sure. Things in Red River are never what they seem.
Once Upon A Lie
When a string of disappearances turns deadly, Special Deputy Calamity James takes the case, but a new face in Red River is interfering with her investigation. Agent Albert Wong works for a special sect of the FBI—he wants Cal’s help, and he’s not above threatening her to get it. As Cal balances her growing workload, a vengeful spirit makes devious plans in the mountains. Even if Cal solves the case, she may not be able to save Red River.

Started off ok but by the third book the story line lame.
The book started off as an easy read. The third book appts to have run on borrowed ideas from the 70s. Police chief being usurped by the village idiot and a person allegedly I’ll for 10 days with no one, including her interested not noticing, a magical knife made me increase speed of narration to get to the end.

Interesting Mystery
I love the 1st of the series. The 3rd a little out there but really it’s easy to get lost in any of them. This was my 1st paranormal mystery as I’m typically a cozy kind of girl.

Just, No
The first book was good, entertaining, I enjoyed everything about it and was super excited there were three stories. The second book, the narration changed which took me awhile to get used to but that was ok. But the story, it was ho hum and boring and just kept taking weird plot twists that were pretty dull. and SPOILER ALERT -------- the fact that she helped to get Liam to stay with her uncle and then turns around and accuses her uncle of abusing her . Like WHAT ? why would you put a kid there then ? I stopped listening at that point. I can't even with that. So I have nothing to say about the third book or the rest of the second book but I would say save yourself the credit and get something else.

Such a disappointment
Listened to another of the authors book and really liked it. I just couldn’t go any further with this one after a few hours. The main character is just so irritating and story drags on so slowly. A waste of a credit .

Written by a good author whose stories are always good. The narration was also well done and added to the story by Cheryl May Given audio for my voluntary review

Silent Graves or SYFY series Wynonna Earp?
I loved the books, but couldn’t give it all 5 Stars because the characters and background story is way to similar to the SYFY channels TV series Wynonna Earp.
Main Charters comparison:
Calamity James - Wynonna Earp
Winnie James - Waverly Earp
Teddy Burke - Nicole Haught
Watch the series for yourself and you’ll see the many similarities.

I like the story
but I can't take all the hissing. All s's, t's, and ch's have a hard hiss that makes it hard for me to listen because it hurts. The story is cool but I'm going to have to read it since my head can't take the hissing. If it doesn't bother you then it's a great story so far even if I didn't finish it.

Surprisingly Entertaining
Silent Graves is a surprisingly entertaining paranormal mystery. Calamity can be frustrating but her decision making abilities are getting better. I enjoyed this set and look forward to other books about these characters.

I love this story line! Please give us more!!!
I love the characters in this series! It keeps me excited and wanting more. The characters development is awesome and I cannot wait for more from these characters. At least I hope we get more from these characters. I listened on my breaks and anytime I had a moment to listen. Thank you for a great series!
