Summary

Rule Number 1: Do Not Sleep with Clients

I was the best agent in the industry. More ruthless and cutthroat than any arrogant bastard you'd ever met.

The top actors in Hollywood came to me to get signed.

When I saw James Ryne, America's Sweetheart, standing across the bar, I wanted her body like I'd never wanted anything before.

I broke rule number one.

But, after all, I was a man. No one had ever mistaken me for a saint.

Rule Number 1: Do Not Fall in Love Again

I didn't know his name. I didn't who he was. All I knew was that he was deliciously handsome and he had to be someone to get into the most elite bar in LA.

He was too old for me, too experienced — the kind of man everyone warned me about. It was only supposed to be a one-night stand. I could have walked away. I should have walked away.

And then I was forced to walk away when my scandal hit the tabloids.

I broke rule number one and now I had to make the biggest decision of my life.

Risk my heart or get signed.

Better than E!

Watching E! Entertainment isn’t even as exciting as reading this book. James is on her professional way to the top but has recently had a scandal that no actress wants to have happen to them, unless they are a Kardashian. The only one that can help is someone that knows James in the biblical sense and he’s not so sure this professional mix is a good idea. Which is why this makes for an oh-so bumpy and sexy ride.

If there is one thing that is a common denominator between most of (because Memoirs) Marni Mann’s books, it is sex. Not just sex, but like hot and dirty and most definitely not your cookie cutter sessions. They are something to write home about. Something unique to Marni that you won’t forget and you haven’t read before. Yummy, even. Yep. Just... really good stuff.

Take away that and Marni’s books all differ vastly but are all so very, very good and Signed isn’t any different. It kept me flipping pages and kept my emotions high for the characters. I love a story that grips me and doesn’t let me go and Signed did that for me. I felt sumptuous as we lived the high life of an actress, as close as I will ever get but Marni did a brilliant job at painting a vivid picture of the high life. I felt angry and I wanted retribution most of the time because I cared so deeply for James and her personal battles. I laughed at the relationship between James and her best friend, Eve. We all have that spit fire friend that runs their mouth, if you don’t than you just might be that friend. Oh, and the sex scenes... did we already talk about those? They are pretty great. *sigh*

While definitely on the lighter side of Marni’s career, I’m not mad about it. I loved, loved, loved it. When I read the ending paragraphs I had a stupid smile on my face with my kindle clutched to my chest. That is the perfect ending to a book.

Abby Craden and CA Sorensen were great narrators! I thoroughly enjoyed their performances and what they contributed to these characters.

I "LOVE" Marni Mann

I "LOVE" Marni Mann, her books are guaranteed to be steamy, suspenseful, dramatic and an overall Goodreads. The stories are great, the characters are likable, and the sex is Hot. Signed.. did not fail to deliver all the things that fans love about Marni's books. They're so good and so well written that if time allowed I would read them over and over. Unfortunately with a career that requires 8-10 hr. days, a husband, and two teenage sons; whose schedules I'm completely at the whim of... for me narrated books are a necessity. I love narrated books and as an avid listener the narrator can make a huge difference. Abby Carden was perfect, her deep sultry voice set just the right tone and made a memorable impression. However the narration of C. A. Sorensen left something to be desired. At times it felt slightly as if I was listening to the voice of a grandfather. It was often Without Youth or appeal. As previously stated I "Love" Marni Mann, and I think she has woven creative and imaginative story. I simply think that it would have been better served by a better male narrator.

Good story, pretty good female narrator, TERRIBLE male narrator

The story was good. It was interesting and not like anything I’ve heard before. Warning: If the C word bothers you, be prepared.
Marni Mann is a good author. I will continue to seek out books by this author.
The female narrator was pretty good. Not great...but ok.
The male narrator was TERRIBLE. He sounded like Les Nessman (WKRP in CINCINNATI...google it) doing a 1930’s drama.
Please, please, please...casting directors, please cast appropriately aged, believable narrators for these books. The authors work too hard on them to have them ruined by a horrendous narration. And believe me, this narration was utterly horrendous. :(

Why?

Great story! Loved Abby Craden’s narration but C. A. Sorensen’s was just horrible, he sounded too old and without emotion it was so hard to get through the book.

Great story, female narrator -5, male narrator-1.

I loved the story and Abby Craden’s narration. But, C. A. Sorensen’s narration of Brent was a disaster and extremely difficult to listen to. It was the absolute wrong voice for Brent, but it was not on the audible sample of this book. Had it been, I probably would not have bought this audible book.

However, Abby did a wonderful job bringing James to life. She is the reason I continued to listen to this audible version of this novel which I really loved and enjoyed. I just sampled the next audible novel in this series and the male narration by Sam Crowley sounds perfect. Here’s hoping Callie Dalton is as good.

Hollywood and Scandal

I really wanted to love this one. I enjoyed the Unblocked Collection and love Marni Mann's writing, but I just didn't love this one. I didn't like the story right away and I never really warmed up to it as I kept reading. I couldn't connect to the characters at all and I felt no connection between them either. I figured out the ending pretty quickly and didn't leave much to be desired between James and Brett. The narration was good for the most part. I liked both narrators well enough. It was their narration that kept me listening even though I wasn't all that invested in the story.

The book was good but the male narrator was terribly disappointing and made it hard to listen to.

James and Brett were a chefs kiss

Signed is the 1st book in The Agency series and ohhh weeee. So good! Great introduction to the series with James and Brett. Nothing like a good age gap, one night stand, forbidden, forced proximity, celebrity romance to keep you turning the pages. James is fun, sassy, and considered Americans Sweetheart but, she finds her self in a media hell storm and is abandoned by her whole team.
Brett’s is a cut throat, alpha agent/lawyer who’s company is in charge of bringing her back to the good graces of the media. But they have a secret. They knew each other before they started working together. They have this instant, and insane chemistry that is off the charts. As the book goes on they try to fight it but then they can’t. Marni makes this book a smoking hot romance that is full of scandals, deceptions, slightly angsty, and a crazy plot twist that I was not expecting. I read and listened to the audio book at the same time. The narration is done by Abby Craden and C.A. Sorensen. This dual POV in audiobook and book was excellent. Loved the character transitions and was kept engaged by the narrators. Great read and listen
