Summary
My name is Thea, and I’m a monster hunter. Or a monster, depending on who you ask….
Someone is hunting the shifters of Hollowmore and I’m the only one that can stop the killing. My name is Thea: monster hunter, daughter of the most powerful Arcanshifter and, since leaving my clan, the ultimate outsider.
My only ally, Marcus, is even more of an outsider than me. If anyone learns he’s a dragon shifter, the tattered remains of his clan will be wiped out. The last thing he wants is to risk exposure by helping me. The last thing I want is trouble with dragons–or the distraction of his smoldering eyes.
But a young dragon shifter is one of the latest victims, so Marcus is involved whether he likes it or not. I guess we’re working together. This should be…interesting.
From the secret councils of the shifter clans to the slums of Goblin Town, I’ll turn over every rock in Hollowmore if I have to. Someone is killing my people.
And when I find them, I'm going to make them pay....

good second book
I really like the intricate politics of this world, built upon a tight balance and power struggle from different clans. In this second book, we get a sturdy plot with character growth and a slow burn that borders on superglued snail pace... A little frustrating but endearing none of the less.
The reader is doing a great job to give life to the characters, and I just sat and relaxed while listening. The end still does not tighten the long arching story, so I'll look forward to the next book in the series.

Absolutely riveting plot and an ancient enemy!
Shifter Battles breaks new ground in clan relations as a new generation pushes the boundaries of old beliefs. Amidst the change a deadly enemy rises that threatens to collapse everything slowly being forged. Other risks much to help clan children and pushed against the concept of past rivalry to find truth and justice for the injured. In this book Althea loses much and with at least one clan the pain scars deep causing doubt for all that has been achieved by her dogged efforts to find the truth and save lives. I can’t wait to see how the dynamics change in the next installment. I highly recommend it awesome book with an excellent narrator. This was a great listen!

Evil in Red
Thea certainly has her hands full with trying to solve a curse that gets her friends dead or cursed .
Thankfully she ends with more friends but one big enemy.
Well narrated too.

Really Rich Story! Loved it!
I didn't actually realise this was book 2 so it clearly works as a standalone as well, though I'm definitely getting book 1 now! The story was so interesting & I loved learning about all the different clans, it was awesome!
The narrator was absolutely perfect! Best female narrator I've heard so far! Absolutely gorgeous voice, perfect! Definitely following for future reads!

still trying to find out who is against Marcus
The book deals with family feuds, overcoming prejudices, the bright hope represented by the younger generations (who have not yet accepted prejudice) and the solution to clan conflicts
I like the mystery of the disease and the commitment to finding a cure.
Unfortunately the story focuses on it to the exclusion of the over arching plot.
This book series is best described as an urban fantasy detective series.
The narrator interprets the story by expressing the various moods adequately.
