Summary

From USA Today best-selling author K Webster comes a steamy and emotional MM romance!

When you’re the sheriff of Brigs Ferry Bay, certain things are expected of you. Marry a local girl, settle down, have a few kids. You know, the small-town dream. But I’ve got a secret I’m terrified will get out.

I’m gay. Not bi. Not curious. Not confused. Just gay.

So, settling for that dream won’t be happening.

If this secret gets out, the people I serve and protect, especially my father, won’t be accepting.

I’m not brave like my high school sweetheart, Kian. The day he came out was the day I had to let him go, and with it, love.

I’ve done a great job of pretending that I’m perfectly fine being single. Until a villainous and annoyingly charming new B&B owner, Dante Kincaid, rolls into town. The spark between us is electric and undeniable. He wants to give me a taste of what he has to offer, and better yet, he vows to be discreet. I’m too selfish to refuse.

But my secret is still a heavy burden, leaving me handcuffed to expectations and unable to fully grasp what I want - him. History has a way of repeating itself, but this time around, with Dante, it’ll hurt a lot worse.

I have to decide if I’m going to let love slip away again, or if I’m going to finally fight for it.

Brigs Ferry Bay is a steamy MM romance series. While each book can be enjoyed as a stand-alone, in order to get the full experience, they're best heard in order. Enemies to lovers, friends to lovers, hurt comfort, age-gap romance, and so much more. Fall in love with the charming small-town gay romances of Brigs Ferry Bay.

Brigs Ferry Bay..

Sheriff's Secret by K. Webster.

Such a perfect feel good read with wonderful characters , you don’t want to put the book down.
Jax , is the sheriff of a small town , always lonely but he keeps his life to himself ,but in life I believe we mirror our feelings everyone else sees us except yourself.

Dante , opens up a b&b with the help of his sister and younger brother , Dante was thrust into parent hood with no choice of his own.

When Jax and Dante meet feelings and emotions grow , Dante is out Jax is not.
There is such a lot more to this book every character holds a story …
Trying to understand some people they way they think is not easy , also extremely hurtful ..
A wonderful solid story , will Jax claim his man ?
This book is written extremely well as you can feel the emotions between both men …
A small town romance added with siblings, schools happenings, people with homophobic attitudes and a stalker .
Read the book then listened to this great audiobook with lovely narration by Thomas Hart.

Decent story, but the narrator…

This story was actually pretty good. Well developed main characters, with a decent enough selection of supporting characters not to be boring but not so many as to be confusing. There were a few little things, like the overuse of certain adjectives and some over the top dramatic scenes that were a little annoying but overall a decent read and worth the credit. Unfortunately, all it took was one mediocre narrator to downgrade a five star listen to a four-star listen.

In technical terms, Thomas Hart did a perfectly good job. He didn’t mispronounce any words, leave weird pauses, breathe or swallow it inappropriate times or any of the other narration destroying faux pas you sometimes hear in audiobooks. What ruined this reading in my opinion though was precisely that it was a READING. It didn’t seem to me like he made much of an effort at all to dramatize the story. To act, rather than just read. Now, I’ll be the first to criticize narrators who over-act, make the things characters say and do so over the top and ridiculous that you can’t suspend disbelief and just listen. But there’s a difference between talking and storytelling. Hart’s performance, while technically correct, lack any conviction or feeling. He was conveying words, not telling a story, and the result was that I found my attention continually wandering, and I found scenes that might otherwise have resonated with me unmoving.

I would definitely continue this series, but if the other books are narrated by the same person, I’d think twice before dropping a credit.

Love Brigs Ferry Bay!

Was curious about the Brig’s Ferry Bay Novels. I really enjoyed this book. Started out hot and kept it that way throughout the book. Loved that Dante & Jax were total opposites. My first listen by Thomas Hart. He did a great job. Can’t wait to check out the 2nd book on this series!

Nice narrator, but what a lisp

interesting story so far, but Thomas Hart has a lisp that is a little annoying. A nice, deep voice, though.

Actually a good story - but the narrator…

Overall a good story - I should have stuck with reading this book and not listened to it. The Narrator didn’t really do anything wrong, basically he read the book, he didn’t perform it with any real emotion. I went back and forth with this book over a few months, loosing interest due to the narration. Did finally finish it.

So many gays in one tiny town

What is an author to do when trying to create a series of books? We found out K Webster's approach with this book. What could have been a decent book - had it not been overloaded with too many characters being prepared for their own book in the series - ended up being, well, overcrowded. Too many ideas split the focus and muddied an interesting premise, out of towner deals with hate crimes and the closeted sheriff struggles with repressed feeling, etc... Instead the out of towner also has a gay younger brother who is also being targeted. Add another gay out of towner who can't get anything through the town council. And a gay out of towner who's been there awhile and has a business but is also being eyed by someone who doesn't like gays. And then there is this friend of one of the out oft owners who turns out to be gay when everyone thought he was straight. And the closeted sheriff's younger brother might be gay, or maybe is bi. And there is a homeless kid who we think is gay, but might not be? Who can keep track. I know I got tired of it and found finishing the book difficult.

There is a way to create series that don't have so much exposition that plots get lost. The Somewhere series by Parrish comes to mind immediately. This book is just one slice of a so-so pie. I do not recommend.

Narrator ruins the story

I can’t really say i enjoyed this book because the narration was so bad I couldn’t focus on the story. How does someone that reads so bad with no emotion get a job as a professional narrator? I stopped listening a quarter of the way through the book. DNF!!!!!! It bums me out. This Thomas Hart needs to find another job!!!!!

Could have been saved

This audio could have been saved with a better narrator. JF Harding or Teddy Hamilton could have made this story really exceptional. While the story itself was decent, it was really ruined by a lackluster narration. It was like listening to Ben Stein for hours that even the sex scenes couldn’t save.

Sizzling Heat & Heart Tugging Emotion

Sizzling heat and heart tugging emotion will quickly pull you into this wonderful read. This book kicks-off a brand new series of MM romances and if I may say so myself, it does an excellent job of it. I'll tell you right now that Jax and Dante are going to give you all the feels, while raising your temperature, causing your heart to ache and leaving you swooning mess. The storyline grabs and hold your attention easily with the skillfully crafted blend of raw emotions, drama, angst, romance, tension, suspense, small town charm, quirky characters and heart. Honestly, I thought this book was pure perfection! I loved it and can't wait to enjoy more entries in this series.

Emotional Rolercoaster!

Sheriff’s Secret is such an emotional rollercoaster ride. It’s a beautifully written book yet the emotions are so raw and real. I love the suave, flirty Dante and the strict, by the book Sheriff. They’re opposites in so many ways but their connection is so strong. They’ll suck you in and leave you wanting more. The narrator did a fantastic job bringing them to life!

5 STARS!

I first read the ebook and loved it. My original review is below. When I found out about the audio, I immediately had to download and start listening. This book is even better than I remember.

This is my first audio listen by this narrator, and he was fantastic at giving life to Dante and Jax.

Original Review:
An amazing start to what I know is going to be an amazing series! Jaxson and Dante's story was a beautiful, heart wrenching one. Jaxson, too afraid to show who he really is, and who could blame him with the circumstances surrounding him. Dante, with his strength, always trying to keep everyone safe and protected, but both of them so vulnerable with each other. I absolutely adored this story! This is one that will stay with me for a long time to come!
