Summary
The books that inspired the Netflix series!
Discover Paige and Preacher’s Story.
In love, some people are worth fighting for....
For the second time in a year, a woman arrives in the small town of Virgin River trying to escape the past.
John ‘Preacher’ Middleton is about to close the bar when a young woman and her three-year-old son come in out of the wet October night. An ex-marine who has seen his share of pain, Preacher knows a crisis when he sees one, and this woman is certainly frightened and in need of help. But Preacher’s instinct to protect is more than an engrained sense of duty, for Paige Lassiter has stirred up emotions in him - emotions that he has never before allowed himself to feel.
When Paige’s ex-husband turns up in Virgin River and secrets are revealed, Preacher knows his own future hangs in the balance. But if there’s one thing the marines has taught him, it’s that some things are worth fighting for....

Brilliant
I loved this book, can’t wait to read all the others in the Virgin River series.
I haven’t watched the Netflix series yet as I have in my minds eye how the characters look, and I don’t want to be disappointed, really lovely writing c

Perfect
The narration of this was great.
I love the story. the wording is a touch outdated but that is sort of the point of this. Its meant to be easy to read and easy to listen to, if you're complaining about that in a review for book 2. You're the problem. I haven't seen the netflix show. Think I've watched a single episode so I don't have that affecting my view of this.
I can't wait to read/listen to the rest of this series.

A bit boring
Thankfully Netflix have modernized the thinking in producing the series. From absolute perfect sex first time every time to referring to a woman close to giving birth as “ready to whelp”, it’s both unrealistic and sometimes offensive. I’ll keep watching the Netflix version but won’t listen to anymore of this
