Earlier G rated Robyn Carr
When I read the other reviews, I knew this was going to be a story that focused more on the airline industry and the strong woman pilot than romance, but didn't realize it was from a story she wrote in 2005. I really like Robyn Carr, and usually get to know and love her characters. However this book treats three main characters almost equally, so you don't ever get inside the head of any one of them. The very mild G-rated romance of one of the secondary characters (Dixie) is sweet but hardly draws you in, and the expected happily ever after ending for the main character (Nikki) is wrapped up so quickly and neatly at the end that I was left saying, huh? This is a perfectly pleasant read (listen) but if you're expecting Virgin River, you'll be disappointed.

Flilght of fancy
If you could sum up Blue Skies in three words, what would they be?
Engaging, memorable, delightful
What did you like best about this story?
Real people of all walks of life, psychosis, and dreams. The characters jump out at you. The narrative brings out the pathos of each character. I laughed out loud many times while driving. I was emotional for certain characters. And the story felt current.
What about Therese Plummer’s performance did you like?
I have always enjoyed her reading. She is doing great bringing the different voices to the characters.
Who was the most memorable character of Blue Skies and why?
By far Dixie with her southern charm, witty comebacks, and the ability to get information for others without seemingly being nosy!
Any additional comments?
All of Robyn Carr's books should be made into a miniseries. Hallmark could employ lots of people by letting newcomers jumpstart their career.

Not my thing
What did you like best about Blue Skies? What did you like least?
I loved The House on Olive Street and thought I'd give another Robyn Carr book a try. But I thought Blue Skies was a little dumb and really didn't identify with any of the characters.
Would you recommend Blue Skies to your friends? Why or why not?
I would not recommend it unless they were somewhat interested in the airline industry.

Incomplete
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
I actually enjoyed listen to this book. I found the story line of the three characters were incomplete.
Has Blue Skies turned you off from other books in this genre?
No, I will read the reviews a little more carefully in the future
How did the narrator detract from the book?
She did not Theresa Plummer reading was perfect for the characters
What character would you cut from Blue Skies?
Yes, Joe I believe was his name, he was the one starting up the airlines.

How To...
Disappointed. This was more like a 'how to' run a Air Line. The plot was thin and the characters not very well developed. Poor Dixie came off sounding weak and needy for male attention all the time. Narrator has the correct 'sound' for the Carr books. I enjoyed the first one I read but this one was ..well... just boring. The only action was in the last two Chapters. This is going to be a 'Return To Sender.

Easy and enjoyable listen
As an airplane enthusiast I especially enjoyed this novel, but you don't need to know anything about planes to enjoy this story of a strong woman in a man's world.
