Jeffrey Dahmer, the Milwaukee Cannibal, is one of the most infamous serial killers in the US. All serial killers seem to have a storied past, one of heartbreak or pain, which caused them to become who they were or are. This audiobook is here to provide you with Jeffrey Dahmer's story.

He didn't start out being a murderer. His life began just like yours and mine. He was born in a suburb of Milwaukee, the older of two sons. But his childhood is what shaped him to be the killer he was.

Well explained story

An interesting book about one of the most infamous serial killers in the world. Well written and flows well I learnt quite a lot of things that I didn't know about the despicable crimes that were committed.

Informative and Straight to the point.

Great listen.
I've listened to my fair share of serial killer true crime stories and this was definitely one of the better ones!
Factual and straightforward.
Enjoyed the narrator, found his voice easy to listen to.

Good 'n creepy

I enjoyed the book, though I had to take frequent breaks between chapters. as an avid reader of true crime I summarily dismissed BTK over the years, I didn't find him or his crimes interesting. this book changed that. though Rader himself is dull, the cold and calculating way he went about his crimes and how it was told in a way many books such as "killer clown" about John Wayne Gacy, and "the stranger beside me" about Ted Bundy never did. I also enjoyed the focus on the police and civilians who helped work the case for over 30 years, it's another view point rarely taken in books of this nature.

Good read.

True story. A little scary at times. I was in the military when BTK was caught, and I didn't know anything about BTK. I'm also going to buy A Serial Killer's Daughter.

Excellent

Obviously a difficult read, and at times I needed to step away from the horror of it all but, it is well done and the narrator does a very good job.

Compelling from beginning to end

The case of BTK is very interesting. While it seems that Rader may have been a stumbling, fumbling and very lucky serial killer when compared with others, his case is nonetheless compelling. This book never drags along and keeps you interested all the way through. The format of this book and the way the story is told is well done. The performance was good. I highly recommend this book to any True Crime fans.

In depth and harrowing

Excellent telling of a horrific man living dual lives! So much detail of the entire process and really getting to know the character of the detectives involved and how personal they took the case. So sad for all of those families involved thankfully he is off the streets!

Perfect mix of fact and narrative

Like any true crime novel I'm sure things are written with some sort of bias throughout this book, but honestly I dont mind. This retelling seemed eager to tell both the victories and shortcomings of the case while also adding a compelling narrative aspect. The narrator was also clear and interesting in his reading

Monsters are real

Stories like this freak me out. How can someone so evil, so depraved, so monstrous live a seemingly normal life? Monsters really do live among us. Story was well written and performed well. If you like true crime books, this one is a must.

Great Book Very Detailed

I enjoyed this book very much, but that may sound wrong to say. It was thorough and interesting and definitely graphic, not for the faint of heart. BTK is a very interesting serial killer in the fact that he could lay low for so long without indulging his compulsions and desires. The relationship the police had with the local newspaper is amazing and nothing like you ever hear about in the cases of other murderers, serial killers especially. I was incredibly impressed but then learned the book was written by the men who were reporters for said newspaper. I don't expect that they were lying,
