About this listen

Watch out, saints. The sinners have come home.

Eve and Maggie Abbott are desperate. Out of money, and options, they are forced to move into one very old house. It happens to have belonged to their dead grandmother, but the rent is cheap, and the location is killer. That last sentence is a joke, unless you're into a "middle of nowhere" vibe - and cows.

Welcome to Saintsville, population...too small to matter.

Poor girls. Their parents died four years prior, and Eve has been raising Maggie ever since. Correction: trying to raise her, but failing miserably. Attempting to adjust to their new surroundings, life becomes a boring routine of work and school, until one fateful day.

A moving truck, preceded by a sleek black hot rod, pulls up to the abandoned shack across the field. Out pour five brothers. Attractive, tall, tattooed, and lethal. But why are all their tattoos the same?

What are the new neighbors hiding? And why does Eve have a funny feeling that it has something to do with her?

Lock your doors. Close your blinds. The clock is ticking. And the Abbotts? They're almost out of time.

I was really enjoying the book when it suddenly ended. Is there a follow up?

Where's the next book? I was enjoying this?

Good story, teen romance with monsters. Ends suddenly, no 2nd book (so far), hopefully there's another one coming soon.

I was unsure what to expect when starting this. I have to say, the story was so unexpected but welcome! I found the idea of zappers interesting and their fight against snappers. Definitely feels like a more scifi take on the whole gifted versus demons trope. I enjoyed the plot overall and the romance subplot wasnt bad, though I did find the whole hot and cold attitude of Luca odd and the connection between him and Eve a bit weak. Overall, I liked this book.

This was really well written. I was surprised as the free audiobooks are usually not quite up to standard, so I was really impressed with this one. I really enjoyed the characters. With the book being written in both sisters perspective, although mostly Eve’s, it meant there was a good amount of types of love options so you had your dark and tormented soul vs cheeky, peoples person. The plot, I thought, was well developed as was the world that Brittani has built. My only hold up on the book was the beings being called “zappers” - and that’s just a personal preference.

Pleasantly surprised
