I'm still confused

Its definitely a different take on possession and demons but I'm still confused.
Yes there's some twists and turns, some weird dreams and history but parts that I thought would lead to more story, just ended abruptly and parts that I wanted dragged out for a long overdue satisfaction, I was like "that's it?"
And lastly, what was that dream about the door all about? I'm so confused.
