Summary

Their paths never should have crossed, but a mandate for justice sealed their fate. From their first encounter, Cruz "The Butcher" Merada and Zafira Wilder's meticulously laid plans were shot to hell.

He's a charmingly persuasive player, a keeper of sinful promises, who's used to getting what he wants. She's resilient, determined, and nobody's pushover. They know a relationship between them would never work; however, it's only a matter of time before they risk giving in to their desires. Soon, they're spiraling out of control in a tangled web of heartstrings and treachery.

If they're smart, they'll call it quits and walk away before someone gets hurt. Or, just maybe, Cruz and Zafira will be brave enough to confront their fears and fight for what's inevitable between them - love.

Contains mature themes.

Good Read

This of course was a good read it is D.A. Young. But do not expect the same sex scenes we usually find in her books. More then 8 hours before the couple does anything worth talking about. I know it is petty but she is one of those writers that makes some of the best erotic scenes. Dont judge me!!! There are also so many twists and turns flash backs that come together in thi book. I think I will not be getting the rest of this series until it is rated by other people.

Don’t waste your credit.

Usually this authors delivers. But this book from begin to end was all over the place. It didn’t flow. What was the point of the book? I’m returning it to get my credit back.

Not as good as Whiskey Row.

This book was so ofd and convoluted. Like it was either rushed or didn't have an editor. There were so many diverted parts and incomplete plots and weired conversations of the stories. There also seemed to be continuity errors in the timeline. Also if you're looking for the spice of Whiskey Row it doesn't start until chapter 16 and tame. It didn't feel like the old book and author until 30 mins before the end of the book. Not worth the credit could have bea short story or a few chapters on the last book.

Good story narration struggled

I really liked the story....Mari the female narrator wasn't good at doing the accents of the different characters and by the end of the book they all sounded the same which was a little confusing and annoying. besides that I really liked it.

Yay!

I feel like I’d waited forever for Cruz to find his love. Great adventure, family, flashback to favorite characters and at last his love. Great narration. Cruz is so sexy. This book screams pick me.

Another Excellent Story from Whiskey Row via Spain

I just finish this latest tale that when I began it, I was not certain I wanted to read about the main character, Cruz Merada. This one has all the adventure of the other Whiskey Row stories but here we meet new characters and get the origin story for "the Butcher". As usual the characters are all well written. Kudos again to Sean Crisden and his excellent voicing and narrative abilities. He makes you forget one person is producing all these characters. I also love that we had Mari as the female narrator on this one. She is a gem and I always enjoy listening to her. Now looking forward to reading Guy's story! I think he's the only one of the Whiskey Row characters left without his own book.

Too much back and forth

This storyline was all over the place and challenging to keep up with; had to listen closely for past events and the here and now. Narrators did a good job for the most part but dialects were not always consistent. Book was better toward the end. Had a difficult time continuing to listen but made it through.

Great transition. from the ?Row

I first bought the book when it came out. I have been waiting to hear the narrator's tell the story passion and Fire. there is so much going on in this book and I enjoyed every moment of it. I like the relationship between Cruz and zafira. I think she is going to be a great addition to the Whiskey Row family. I like how she Blends in with her Aunt Vivian and gets along with her new found grandmother. this story had me on the edge of my seat. I knew Cruz was around for a reason but I never thought he would be so Charming and deadly at the same time. there are a lot of twists and turns and a lot is explained in this book. I can't wait for the next addition to the book. now I'm using talk to text so if you see any typos please excuse them. I'm going to say it again I love love love this book
