Summary
Forsaken to be a killer and sent to be a destroyer, Sviska must choose his own path.

OMG
This is quite a few hours I won't get back again, for an assassin the main character is very naive, just like the writing, I finished the book more for the narration than the story..could do better!

Not really that good
the series just didn't seem all that thrilling and I struggled to keep reading, before reading I would suggest looking through the reviews.

Bad writing.
The main character is suppose to have been raised as an assassin but is more like a lost child who loves everyone. Plot devices make no sense. Why would you chase an enemy instead of just protect the thing he wants to poison? Just overall frustrating writing.

Good start but a struggle to finish
I really enjoyed the first book. I liked the characters and the story. So I got the triology. Not sure what to think of the second one, it felt disjointed, and the third one didn't seem to have a story line left at all. It was like listening to hours and hours of parliament sessions where everyone had to have their say and then on to the next battle. I think for me there were just too many peoples ,chiefs and characters and they all had to have their say on every subject. I didn't care much anymore what happened to them. If it wasn't for Tim's excellent narration I would have given up.

Elderscrolls/Tolkienesque Adventure
This is an excellent written trilogy and superbly narrated. Many images of an Elderscrolls world came to light as well as classic DND/Tolkien characters, If you enjoy that sort of thing, you can't go wrong.

Mind Wandered
This is the first audio book I have listened to that I have struggled to concentrate on. For whatever reason I would simply zone out and then half an hour or five minutes later realise the book was on and I hadn't a clue what had happened. I think it was a combination of the narrator and the writing.
I did finish it and it was not the best book, cheap to buy as a trilogy for one credit but I do wish I had just given up instead of keeping listening. I did like the storyline, and characters just apparently not the execution.

disappointed I really struggled to finish.
text did not fit the genre. poor nod toward romance I wanted to rewrite it properly. over explaining situation as if a word count had to be reach.

Not quite finished
I get the feeling the author wasn't finished with the books. There are plot holes, contradictions etc. The overall storyline is compelling but the characters are shallow and single-minded. The main character is supposed to be an excellent assassin yet he is surprisingly useless in fights. I have 11h left but I give up.

Brilliant novel
This trilogy is awsome! A must for all who are into this type of novels. Thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish . Excellent narration by the way.

Found Difficult to Listen to the End
Characters are shallow, good for not much more than making profound announcements! Storyline confusing. Attempts at humour and romance are dire. Over zealous, overacting narrator.

Great Series: In depth backstory
I’ll begin with a note to any with a dislike for the series — there needs to be an awareness that this is not the first installment of the Dwehmar World. The previous books contain an extensive backstory. With that being stated, the Dwemhar World is reasonably complex and full of great characters. The narrator does a very good job and is quite engaging. This is a great series and I look forward to reading/listening to the others books.

Too much focus on minutia and exposition ...
and not much on meaningful character development. J.T. Williams actually writes prose quite well but lacked a cohesive ability to blend the characters and the story into resembling a mission of any urgency. The MCs fellowship included 4 people of varied races and backgrounds with the primary lead, Sviska, being a human assassin without any magic. However, it turns out that he was the least abled of the four with Berry (Elf) being the most useful, followed by Rastoh (dragon whisperer) then Slats (dwarf) and then Sviska. Also, the team mates never really interacted much and for the most part were loners, doing their own thing which made both the team and each of the individuals uninteresting.
The author seemed to feel that they needed to include several fantasy species like, gnomes. dragons and, of course, unicorns but their involvement was short-lived making the listener wonder why they were added in the first place other than to take up whitespace.

Where I almost gave up on the series was when Sviska was entrusted with a very rare and vastly important book on magic, Galhedriss Arcana, and warned many times to never allow the antagonist to gain access to it. He then puts it in a robe pocket and eventually rushes in to help a friend against an attack then gets caught and loses the book to the antagonists. He never even considered hiding of the book before bumbling in to fight beforehand. Even the lord who entrusted him with the safety of the book was disappointed and I could almost hear him thinking, "YOU HAD ONE JOB! ONE JOB!"

Still, as I stated, the author was very good at crafting prose so if you're interested in a nice fantasy and don't mind it not being very challenging, this series may interest you.
Tim Gerard Reynolds performance was Bakers Square paraphrase worthy, "Come for the fantasy, stay for the narrator."

Not likely to keep you engaged...
While the setting and premise are interesting, the way in which the book was written is juvenile. The author writes about events and characters with very little detail before moving on to the next act. At first I thought this might be a sped up introduction to set you in the world, but as I proceeded further into the first book it was apparent that this was not the case. The style may work great for children just getting into books and building imagination, but I think it may fail to meet your expectations in a fantasy series. Story aside, Tim the narrator did well.

really bad
I struggled to listen to this book. It's a three part book and could only listen to the first part. As the author has a good idea, he failed at writing. It's like getting my third grade kid to tell me what he did at school. Couldn't explain simple things to why this world worked the way it did.

Vomit on an unwashed shoe.
The first thing you notice is tearing frame rates. Actions and events jerk your mental screen region around and increases your overall mental strain to keep up with the story. The description comes to you in low resolution depictions. With eloquent descriptive words like big rock, flat road and dark night. The plot has a massive plot holes that continue to destroy the story arc and suck away your enjoyment. The main character himself is given an intelligence score of 1 with no chance of leveling up. He goes to the village as wine maker (They already have someone who is fully capable of making wine btw). He wonders why he has been sent there. They tell him repeatedly wine is critical for magic to survive and that his employers want to kill magic. Why he can't put these facts together? Then the "curse" disappears for no reason. Even though like two chapters ago it was killing everyone. Then magic was gone. Two chapters later magic was never there it was sleeping. Huh. Honestly that one might be my bad I was kinda over it at that point.
Main Characters were all sleepy and very tired. Ten minuets go by and then two of them walk the entire next day without so much as a yawn. Main character threw empty sword scabbard away. One chapter later main character threw the same empty scabbard away. Just too much to deal with man. Next I guess I'll read snow-white and the seven dwarfs. At least that has a more complex story line, better plot development and makes sense.

Was when I was asleep and couldn't have my earbuds in. I really enjoyed the characterization performance by the narrator.

Like reading an abridged Novel
There are so many leaps/holes in the story. Half the time the main character gets somewhere and makes me wonder why he was there. The reader was excellent as usual. The book was more like a outline for a story. I don't recommend it.

So sad to have finished the series
This was a fantastic book series.
I hope this author comes out with material comparable to this!
I listened to the entire series back to back.
That indicates that it was put together perfectly for me to listen every night before bed.
