Summary

Maxence’s brother was trying to kidnap or kill him, and an organized crime thug wanted to cut off Max’s head and feed it to the sharks for entirely different reasons.

So when a cute little blonde stood up on a barstool in the middle of the Buddha Bar in Paris and drew the attention of the wrong sort of guys, Maxence swooped in for the rescue. Everything about her appealed to him: her sweetness, her giggliness, and especially the fact that she was in trouble.

That last part made her sugar and catnip to Max.

Luckily, he only had five days before he left Paris and Europe for wherever his global charity job was going to send him this time. Why not spend it with the funny blonde who insisted he lie to her? Indeed, if she thought everything he said was a lie, he could confess his sins, unburden his soul, and reveal what he thought he never could.

Five days with her sounded like heaven, if he could just convince her to stop throwing him out of her hotel room.

My life has become a sad country-music song, but instead of heading south, I went to Paris. I was a good girl who had nothing left to lose, literally. My boyfriend had stolen everything. Everything except a nonrefundable plane ticket to Paris, which was supposed to be the trip of a lifetime where that deadbeat was going to propose at the top of the Eiffel Tower.

So I got on the plane without him.

After all that, it was understandable that when I started drinking at the Buddha Bar, things got a little out of hand. Luckily, a man intervened. He was so ripped that I could see every thick muscle of his abs, obliques, chest, and arms through the tight T-shirt he was wearing. He towered over the guys who were bothering me, and they backed off. I took him back to my hotel because I was full of drunken, bad decisions that night.

The last thing I needed was a man who wanted to save me when I was trying to do all the wrong things.

Utterly brilliant!

I was counting the days for the release date, and it was so worth the wait. Once again, Blair Babylon proved herself a phenomenal author, taking her readers/listeners on a fast-paced and exciting adventure. Rogue is brilliantly written, engaging, and entirely captivating with the perfect balance of romance, sensuality, intensity, suspense, unexpected twist, and turns. The characters make this story utterly fabulous, especially Maxence Grimaldi. He is well-rounded with layers of complexity and genuine depth to his personality. Dree is sassy but not over the top, strong-minded, and quite spirited. Together, their connection is magnetic, passionate and wholly electrifying. I'm super energized for the next book and cannot wait to find what's waiting at the edge of the cliff.

Stellar performances by Lucy Rivers and Shane East! Their narration was spot-on, capturing the animations and the dynamics of the characters' personalities, literally breathing life into them and the story. I thoroughly enjoyed every second of Rogue and strongly recommending this audiobook.

OMG... You can't leaving me hanging!

A really well paced, well written story!

Dree is a little frustrating at times.. eg putting money back into an already compromised account. But "Oggy" OMG, so much going on there!! And though I could already see the ending coming.... I still found myself shouting "noooooooo"

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Performance!

Can't wait to find out what happens next!!

Maxence has been a naughty boy!!

I loved this story, it moved at pace through various countries and had drama, intrigue and steamy sex a plenty.

I wasn't initially keen on the female narrator, but she grew on me.... The male narrator though.. Wow.

Thoroughly enjoyed it, and binge listened whenever I could... Definitely one for headphones though.

This could be listened to in isolation, but even better if you've already listened to or read Blair other books, as there are lots shared characters and the stories fit together in a really thoughtful way.

Enjoy!!!!!

Passion, Friendship & A Desire To Help Each Other

Blair Babylon's
Audible 🎧
Rogue: Billionaires in Disguise: Maxence, #1
Narrated by: Lucy Rivers, Shane East
Length: 8 hrs and 16 mins

*Sigh 😍*
We're finally on the road to learning all about the sexy & mysterious Maxence!🎉 He is usually off in some far flung part of the world giving his time & money to charity for the Catholic Church. Currently he's got a few days to kill in Paris before his next assignment starts. It's in a bar he meets & then rescues Dree from her dangerous choices whilst she's very drunk. His Galhad complex has kicked in again.🙈

After she's sobered up enough to be in control, he escorts her to her lodgings. She has a bucket list she'd like his help with, as long as he disappears by the morning!😉🔥 He's only mortal, what's he to do when he's asked to help a damsel in a dress? Take it off of her, of course.🔥😉🔥 This is the start of a four day tryst that opens them both to moving on from past hurt & pain. Enjoying each other, Paris and their anonymity. They make daring rescues, thwart kidnappers & play tag in the Louvre!💕😎 Then they part for good to catch separate planes ..... 👋😔

This is a fun, seductive listen, the narrators did exceptional work on this one.😍 The dichotomy of these two characters couldn't be greater on the surface but deep down they seem very similar in many ways. They both crave a deep connection but seem to look for it from the wrong people. She's as bound in her chains of poverty as he is by his family name & money.💔
This is an intriguing first full novel of this series and I can't wait for more!!🙏🌟

This Rogue will steal your heart

You listened to the prequel and loved it. Grab this one also. Blair wrote a story that has two souls that are hurting and betrayed by people that they love.
Hero is Maxence. Heroine is Dree.
Max is a royal price. , after his brother. Max is a dark , gentleman that always goes out of his way to save the world and people. Only thing is he needs to save himself from his brother that is out to get him. Dree was duped by her boyfriend. She’s stuck in Paris with no money and nobody to look after her . She does something crazy , she says something that will get her in trouble with the patriots . Maxence sees Dree across the bar . When Dree says that challenge she looks at Maxence.
Grab it and see what Dree challenges the bar. Find out how Maxence saves her from shady characters. Both Max and Dree are perfect for each other

Both Lucy Rivers and Shane East performance was spot on. They did the performance great. Their tone for the characters are smooth, clear and strong

Forgive me for I have sinned!!

Her ex led her to Paris, where a bottle led her to Max. Dree is a breath of fresh air that stuns Max. He is taken with her almost immediately. Tell me lies tell me sweet little lies... And Max dear sweet, sexy Max does what is asked!!! Forgive me for I have sinned and likely may continue doing so!!! LOL Love it!!! The male narrator does a fantastic job. His voice just brings this story to life. I really enjoy when a story has dual narrators and the female narrator adds to the story.

Fantastic!

I read an early copy of Rogue but I had to wait to listen to the audiobook until it was released. Waiting was a bit painful because I love audiobooks and was anxiously looking forward to this one. When Blair Babylon began releasing some of her older books in audio I was thrilled. I was even more thrilled when I learned that her newer books were being released as audiobooks nearly simultaneously with the ebook. So, Rogue – wow! Shane East and Lucy Rivers did an outstanding job. The different accents and voices they used while performing this story made the listening experience like watching a play in my head. I could listen to Shane's sexy voice all night long. 😊

As for the story, I have to get this out of the way: this book ends in a cliffhanger BUT… Blair Babylon is one of the few authors that I trust to actually finish a series that she starts AND she doesn't make us wait a horribly long time between books in a series. I know that the next book is already finished…

The blurb for the book is great so I'm not going to restate it here. I will tell you that Rogue captured and held my attention from beginning to end. I admit that towards the end of the book it was easy to see what was coming (I'm sure that was on purpose); but it was still an OMG moment when it came.

Rogue was also LOL funny in places. Dree and Maxence agree not to disclose who they really are and what they really do and this continues the humorous thread throughout the book. Dree is delightfully naïve about some things and never really seems to figure out the real name of the country that Maxence is from (you have to read it to understand).

In conclusion, this story has a little bit of everything: it's funny, witty, sad, intriguing, suspenseful and just plain fantastic. I can't wait for the next book to come out. I almost forgot to say how HOT this story is. It may be the hottest one Blair has written; prepare to fan yourself while listening!

A complimentary copy of this audiobook was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author and/or narrator.

Mysterious Max Gone Rogue

Avid fans of the Blair Babylon universe all know that Max is bound to be unraveled. Finally in Rogue, we get glimpses of that unravelling as we see what it means to "go rogue". And let me tell you, it was worth the wait.

Max and Dree have a light, airy fling which is a great contrast to the deep, dark story underlying both of their lives. And their final night together, and final minutes of the last chapter whet my appetite for much, much more to come.

Once again, Shane East and Lucy Rivers dove into their roles and provided exceptional performances of joy, fear, frustration, anxiety, concern and seduction.

Masterful storytelling!

Andrea “Dree” Clarke was scammed of every penny and more by her Ex-fiance, except for a ticket to Paris. She meets Maxence Grimaldi who had just arrived in Paris and rescues a drunken Dree from a touchy situation in a bar. They agree to spend a the rest of the week together and not to disclose who they really are.
Gradually, more is revealed about their lives and it becomes apparent that each one is in danger from a person in their recent past. Their time spent together is passionate and loving but comes to a very touching, but agreed upon end.
Although I knew this story is a cliffhanger, when it presented itself I still couldn’t help but feel a little surprised. It’s so beautifully written that the ending was like a slap in the face to bring me out of my reverie. It had me holding my breath and wanting to cry.
I fell in love with Maxence and liked the feistiness of Dree, even though at times I wanted to shake her for her naivety and stubbornness. Lucy Rivers’ narration is as always perfection and keeps the story moving right along without any hesitations in her portrayal of Dree. Shane East is a master in all he does and his portrayal of Maxence is perfection and as spellbinding as the character Maxence is. It is apparent that Maxence is a “rogue” of a different nature, but one to be respected and so endearing. Blair Babylon is brilliant and a master at weaving an engrossing story with such enigmatic characters. And as I have not had my fill of Maxence and Dree and I need to know more about them, continuing on in this series to “Order” is a must!!

Excellent book - Prince and the nurse

I was hooked line and sinker with this book of Maxence and Andrea Clark ( Bree) and the chemistry is stellar. Love both narrators and continuing to the next book in the series

Oh, such Princely Yearnings! Yummier than Woo-Hoo!

Confessions, concessions, obsessions and more. To hear these adventures so exquisitely narrated. The inflections alone, were beyond my expectations. Especially certain ahem, minor characters. Great from introduction to conclusion.

Immature, ignorant heroine.

Where the heck do I start?! I can't think of any good thing about this story or production.

Okay! There is ONE good thing about this audiobook. Shane East. Because he's so damn good at what he does. Lucy Rivers? I felt like I was listening to an infomercial where her tone always dips down on every sentence. Like EVERY sentence! And it grated on my nerves. I also couldn't stand her voice for Maxium, she made him sound like an old man with a head cold. *sigh* I gave the performance 3 stars because Shane doesn't deserve to be penalized. He's a 5-star narrator in all he does and always gives it his best.

The story is... juvenile. Dree is a halfwit, but also a nurse? So she's smart when it's necessary to drive the story forward and a blithering moron the rest of the time. You dont become a nurse by NOT having common sense, like, "My Ex stole all my money! Let me put MORE money in there and hope he doesnt do again!" Whaaaaaat?! Dree is whiney, ignorant, and stupid. What's worse is that Maxieum who has the potential for more intelligence and commonsense, lets her dumb choices continue far too long. Like, "I know this is a bad dude shes talking too, but I wont stop her from giving too much information before she digs herself a hole and buries herself even when my gut is warning me of the danger!"

I gave up on the book altogether when Dree who has the chance to get angry at all the stuff her Ex has done to her and I felt like I was listening to a 2 yr old call him a "Silly Mean Poo-Poo Head!" instead of calling him a lying conniving bastard and promising to grab him by the balls for taking all her money. I'm pretty sure I won't finish this book. I'm beyond annoyed that I wasted a credit on it!

If ridiculous heroines are your thing, you'll love this! But I prefer my books to have characters with less childlike antics to adult situations.

Unexpected

I happened upon this author and book and am hooked! I can’t wait to find out what happens next with these interesting and developing characters. The narration of Shane East is, as always, spectacular.
