Summary

Sweet slow burn
This was not as sickly sweet as the previous book and as a result I enjoyed it way more. She is a single mom, and knows how to take care of herself and her son.
The fmc is sweet, softly spoken and cute, but even as she appears breakable she is actually quite strong and I whooped when she puts certain people on their place.
There are issues with her ex and his father (even if the serious topics are not dealt with in depth), also, their relationship develops very slowly, but we get some spice and a hea. The
Free on KU with audio book included too.
Narration was outstanding as always.

Pleasant as far as it goes
This was a pleasant read, with a very likeable cast of characters, particularly the male lead, Blake, who is the epitome of a romance hero. My only problem with this was the lack of plot, as I didn't feel anything actually happened apart from them meeting, getting together and easily falling into love. I would have liked to have seen a little more conflict and a little more of an actual story.

Everly and Blake
This is a standalone but is part of a series so I would recommend ready them in order to avoid spoilers. If you've read book 1, this book continues the timeline. We also get to see a couple of characters reappear from the first book.
Everly and her son Samson have moved back to her parents after the breakup with her ex, who wants nothing to do with his child. She ends up working with Blake, who appears to be a grump when they first meet, but turns out he's been dealing with a lot on his own.
I enjoyed how Everly seemed to bring Blake out of his slump. She was funny and easy to like. The whole friend group embraced her.
This book isn't so much about them getting to know each other and falling, it's more about them both having baggage to deal with, but help each other through. There's no drama in the relationship, it comes from outside influences.
What I didn't like was the whole instant relationship that Blake had for Everly, one minute they meet, the next he's calling her babe and acting as a stand-in dad for Samson. I'm also not a fan of young kids in books, because they are always portrayed as so clever, cute, well-behaved and advanced, and this book managed to fit them all in. For a 10-11 month old Samson managed to walk without any aids, say many different words which were appropriate to the conversation and managed to call Blake Da-Da after their first meeting. I'm a mum, I know that all of these things do not happen at that age.
The narration was good, easy to listen to.
