Summary

Twenty-six-year-old Gaby Barreto might be a lot of things (loyal, sarcastic, one of the guys, and a pain in the butt, depending on which family member you ask), but dumb isn't one of them. When her twin brother invites her to go on tour as his band's merch girl, she isn't exactly screaming at the top of her lungs with joy. But with no job opportunities pounding on her door, an ex-boyfriend she would still like to castrate, and no end in sight to moving out of her parents' house in Dallas, it would be dumb to say no to the chance of a lifetime.

Two bands, three continents, one tour. Spending the next 90-plus days with three beloved idiots and eight complete strangers shouldn't be a big deal, right? If only the singer of the headlining band didn't have tattoos, a great personality, and a fantastic body, and if he weren't so funny.... Let's be real: Gaby never had a chance against Sacha Malykhin.

Funny slow burner

I really how the main female characters are written. Funny, slow burning romance. Really enjoyed it!

New beginnings, music and slow burn 🔥 😻

Be ready for the slowest burn EVER! Mariana Zapata writes slow burn like no-one else, there isn't even much tension for the first half of the book. The spice, even though only happens a couple of times right at the end, is really good. The story was sweet, funny and addictive.
LOVED the characters and their development too.
Great narration on the audiobook.
Free on KU and free audio book on catalogue plus Audible, but totally worth the purchase too.

DNF- bad narration

The narrators voice was grating at the best of times, but her attempt as voicing the male characters was abysmal, she made the adult brother/band mates sound like whiny toddlers and I couldn’t take them seriously

Another slow burn treat.

Another great read by Mariana Zapata, you always know you are going to get great characters that re witty and can banter back and forth. Listening as Gaby and Sacha are drawn to one another as their friendship was quite endearing.

Have both listened and then read this book but prefer reading it rather than listening. Great story either way though.

A lighthearted, easy read

I enjoyed this one but not as much as some others by Mariana Zapata. It's fun though and some parts actually made me laugh aloud. I think I didn't feel very connected to the main characters.
Some of the characters felt a bit one dimensional and the narrator's attempts to voice the male characters did get annoying at times.

Disappointing for Zapata

This was an okay read but it takes a lot for me to like a rocker/musician book. I didn't connect with Sasha in particular, Gabby was okay. The writing seemed a bit overly descriptive even though I'm a fan of MZ. I enjoyed it most from 60%. Good, solid narration.

Couldn't finish book due to narration

I love the previous 4 Mariana Zapata books I've listened to read by Callie Dalton, but only made it to chapter 9 of this book before I couldn't take it anymore. The story is good, and narrator does a really good job when reading in her own normal voice. The problem is she makes the male characters sound dumb and winy and it put me off continuing to the end.

Amazing!

I’ve loved Marianas books for your years and when I decided to start getting myself out walking there’s no one I’d rather have with me than Marianas words and characters! I feel in love with Gabby and Sasha a few years back but listening to their story just adds to it even more
I never smile so much than when I’m listening to one of these audiobooks!

Narration, and action a bit staccato some of the time.

Sometimes loud, too loud for my taste - a bit like New York streets. But enjoyable for all that.

Love this book

… but the audio version is hard to listen to and get the full joy from the book. The narrators voice for all male characters especially Sasha makes them sound like old men with icky characters. If I hadn’t have already read the book I would have been put off.
