About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

Break the cycle, alter your thoughts and create lasting change.

Are you stuck in a habit of believing that you are not good enough?

Do you fixate on a particular narrative about yourself that you wish you could change?

Are negative beliefs holding you back from reaching your fullest potential?

If this sounds like you, then Rewire is your personal guide to unpacking the neuroscience behind why we are subconsciously programmed to repeat certain habits and how we can do, or undo, any type of behaviour in order to achieve peak mental wellbeing.

Neuroscientist Nicole Vignola will talk you through the principles of neuroplasticity and explain how her neurohack methods can help you change your behavioural patterns, enabling you to control how you react to whatever life throws your way, from regulating our stress response through to overcoming self-limiting beliefs.

If there are habits and behaviours that are holding you back from being the person you truly want to be, this book will help you recognise that you are not stuck. It will equip you with the tools to rewire your brain so you can become whoever you want to be. Because the habits you create today will determine who you are in the future.

A must read and listen

An exceptional publication and audiobook that makes accessible the complex world of neuroscience to better help us understand the relationship between our behaviours and actions. Embracing change and not being defined by the narratives that shape us is key to reframing our mindset and wellbeing, which is articulated eloquently by Nicole. I will be recommending this to all my undergrad students and anyone looking to adopt more positive outlook on our ability to grow and develop. 10/10.

Superb!

Scientific but explained in simplistic terms weaved into relatable stories and examples. Superb listen that I have already listened to more than once in the last week.

Some good nuggets

Interesting enough with some good nuggets throughout. I suggest listening to an excerpt before you buy as narration may not be for everyone.

Endless references to Djokovic, Phelps and going to the gym were irrelevant to me. Boring.

Very sports orientated. How about including people who are ill or elderly or in pain etc? I much prefer the mindfulness books like Full Catastrophe Living by Jon Kabat-Zinn, the Mark Williams book on mindfulness, or other Buddhist- derived books. There is more compassion there and NO SPORT, LIFTING WEIGHTS AND JOGGING and being obsessed with your performance, , and they work as is proven by the techniques being applied in many areas now, including the health services. I don’t recall one mention of people who are not able to go to the gym, it was all about achievement. This subject matter needs an author with a greater breath of vision to encompass all groups - not just the self-obsessed Djokovic’s in life.

Dull, repetitive, irritating

Tried to persevere but couldn't hold my attention for more than 2 minutes - sort but waste of money for me
