Summary

Brought to you by Puffin.

The first book in the beloved, bestselling Redwall saga - soon to be a major Netflix movie!

Redwall Abbey, tranquil home to a community of peace-loving mice, is threatened by the evil, one-eyed rat warlord Cluny the Scourge and his battle-hardened horde of predators.

Cluny is certain that Redwall will fall easily to his fearsome army but he hasn't bargained for the courage and strength of the Redwall mice and their loyal woodland friends . . .

Great story, doesn’t hold back on the gritty details.

Great story, can be kinda grim in places. my only gripe is the performer overdoing some bits.

BUY THIS VERSION

I had been keen to listen to Redwall for some time but was put off by having to buy three short books for one completed story arc on Audible, until now.

This is the first 3 books of Redwall - a full story arc in one unabridged package and I absolutely loved it.

The narration/performance was of a very high standard and enjoyable listening.

The story itself is memorable with some really clever and fun moments and the characters were really full of life and brought the whole book together.

Brilliant!

The story and how it was performed was great but it was it was a bit strange that Cluny the scourge had an American accent but I suppose the harshness of his voice helps him sound more nefarious.

Glorious "tail" but cringe worthy voice acting.

What a wonderful story but unfortunate accent choices and poorly executed. Still, bearable and worth it for the beautiful tale.

pick an accent......

Revisiting Redwall after reading many years ago and enjoying it. Of course the tale is unchanged but the performance is rendering this version almost unlistenable! Pauses in the wrong places, but far and away worse, the characters accents keep changing!!!!

A wonderful story. But …..

The story is as I remember. But the narrator kept going into an American accent for the rat . Which slightly spoilt it but in the whole it was better than the old individual titles. But please no American accent

Great story, terribly read.

I loved the story which should have been a warm tale of a kindly community of creatures who face great peril and adventure. Unfortunately, it was not read as such. The accents and intonations are awful, making the story come across as cold and hard. The reader ends sentences in the wrong place and didn't appear to know what he would be reading next. This is the only audible book I have ever considered stopping half way through because I didn't want the story ruined for me.
