Summary

Disowned and disinherited by his aristocratic family, Jack Llewelyn survives on his wits and his ability to nurse officers returning from the Napoleonic Wars. He is prepared to go to any lengths to clear his name, but fate, and the Duke of Diable Delamere, have different plans for Jack. Soon he will be hunting a missing spy, discovering old family secrets, and risking his life pursuing a woman who has changed beyond recognition. Only then will he be able to face his lost love, ask her forgiveness, and finally deserve his very happy ending.

Deep and emotional

I liked this book much more than the first one.
More action, more likeable characters and more emotions.

Narrator needs replaced

I can't with the narrator. Her super loud swallowing, toung clicking and constantly like her mouth fills upp with liquid. although not as annoying as the first book and when the male behind her starts talking

Daft

Ridiculous story, more holes in the plot than in a fishing net. The two main characters are so stupid, they don't deserve a happy ending.

Enjoyable

Adventure, sex, and a large sprinkling of villains makes for an entertaining tale. The narrator was excellent.

Okay, better than the first book

This book was better than the first book, But like the first book, it leave some thing hanging. Like Jack's friend Richard, What happen with him? And what actually happens with Jack's brothers and father? The story just isn't developed all the way.

SInce the book is part of Plus Catalog, at least one isn't wasting a credit or money on it.

Excellent narrator and series!

I love the narrator's ability to speak welsh words/ phrases. She is able to emote the variety of moods which make this series of books even better than I expected. I expected excellence and received it!

A pleasant surprise!

I stumbled upon the first book in this series and was pleasantly surprised by the plot. The author does a great job of giving true substance to the story. Loved unraveling the mystery in each book. And I’m about to start the next one!

Love, Love, Loving it!

A story within a story, quite smart and distinctive. I was drawn into the tale. Each metaphor compliments witty conversation that moves the flow along. Highly entertaining as well as mentally substantial. Don't look for normal think fresh and new twists on romance.

Great Story

Can’t wait
To read the next book in the series. I love that the characters are so well defined and full of background that the reader feels they KNOW them personally. It makes the books so much more pleasurable to read and this narrator does a great job with all the voices and emphasis on the accents.

Good free read but plot stretched plausibility

And I wanted to separately strangle the two main characters for being so clueless about eachother, at times. The narrator was excellent and this continued the far superior story (as a subplot) told in the first book of this series.

Strong characters

The author does a good job with the twists and turns. I enjoyed Jack and Carys characters.
The reader does a good job doing each character. I think she has been the best female reader I’ve heard reading novels. She didn’t make me wince as she changed characters.

a rough kinda love story...loved it!

Caris & Jack had a hard life story and their love stood the time. She knew what she wanted and she got it!
Jack had nothing but finally knew how to love her!
Narrator was great again with all the different characters!!!

Narrator's swallowing...

Narrator is good, but she swallows really loudly. Sorry if you didn't hear it before...now it's all you are going to hear :D
I enjoyed the first book more, but that's just personal preference.

Would be 5 stars if…

This would have been a five star story if it wasn’t full of sex scenes. The storyline was great, so was the narration! I don’t need sexual details to enjoy a book.
