About this listen
There’s only one thing you really need to know about the world I come from: The witch council is as archaic and backward in their ways as they are powerful.
So, when they arrange for me to marry the most powerful warlock in the world so that I can give them magic babies, I do what any sensible 24-year old would do.
I run. Or, at least, I try to. Turns out, when push comes to shove, they’re willing to bargain on the whole marriage thing.
To keep my life the way I like it, I just have to do one little thing: claim my powers. Easier said than done when the unruly power awakened inside of me is a magic that shouldn’t exist.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, my mystic meant to guide me through the change is the very warlock I was supposed to marry. Now, I’m faced with another bargain, and this time, there’s no getting out of it.
Train with Callan and learn how to control my magic...or face the council’s wrath.
One of these things is sure to end in my demise. The other? I give it a 50-50 shot.
Rebel Witch is the first book in the House of Magic series, an enemies-to-lovers paranormal romance with humor and some steam. It contains a strong alpha male who protects and respects his woman.

I loved this book. It's a great start to a series that has so much potential. I liked that Marnie stays true to her character's principles even after she awakens her badass powers. She still wants a simple life and is not tempted (yet?) by the standing her power could potentially offer her. I can't wait to find out what happens next and to get more of my Callan fix.
Elle Sonali does an amazing job narrating this book and helped bring the story to life.

Absolutely loved this book.
This is the first book I've listened to from this author. I was really impressed. The story was great and the narration was spot on. Marnie comes from a family of witches. The witches council are very behind the times and archaic and when Mari finds out she's facing an arranged marriage she decides to leave and give up being a witch. But her mother talks her into doing the ceremony to unlock her powers. This is when her bigger problems begin. I can't say too much more without giving away too much. But I really enjoyed this book. If you love the secret circle and other witch books you'll love this. I need book 2 now though. I received a free copy of this book from the author but the review is my own opinion.

Fab start
I received this book free for an honest review.
Marnie wants nothing to do with magic and the marriage the council have arranged to Callan and is about to skip town when her mother turns up with any offer. She tells her to claim her magic and then she can go where she wants as long as she never uses it but things don’t quite turn out like that when her magic turns out to be pink .
I enjoyed listening to this and love the fact Marnie won’t do as the council tells her but when they threaten her friend she gives in and starts to listen.

magic
so the main character wants nothing to do with the rules of the witch council she made a deal which get broken because of the power she ends up with, Every which way she gets thrown into situations where she is pushed to being around the guy she is "betrothed" to.

An interesting Series... lots of potential.
I enjoyed book 1..
I feel lile Marnie has alot of growing up to do, sometimes i wanted to shout at her lol. Callan- (complete babe) love him and everything he did to try and help Marnie (even if i didnt think she deserved it at times)
Good start though and i look forward to finding out what happens next.
Narrator was great, perfect voice.

A nice series debut with a nice plot
Antiquated traditions will be challenged. A compromise will be reached. But will Marnie be able to keep her end of the bargain? For what it’s worth, will the Council keep their end of the bargain?
After all, instead of running away Marnie has accepted to stay and enter into her powers on the conditions that 1-she can choose who to marry, 2-she won’t have to use her witchy powers if she doesn’t want to and 3- she can keep her human best friend .
Arranged marriage is out of the question for her. The only problem is that the very man she refused to marry -even though he is hot, and respectful and the most eligible bachelor- is also her mentor.
This book is the first of a series and is a slow burn. I enjoyed listening to it even though I would have wanted more in terms of connection. I wanted to see Callan and Marnie out of their mentor/protegé relationship. It would have given more intensity to their relation. I hope to see more of that in the next installment.

Rebel Witch
Overall this book was good, the world building and characters were believable, but FMC Marnie was too bratty for my liking, and took the teenage rebellious attitude too far at 24, and that ruined it for me. The narration by Elle Sonali was very good, and a joy to listen to. I received this book in exchange for my honest review.
