Summary

Quit Smoking the Easy Way is a self-help guide to help you quit smoking now using a unique combination of positive affirmations, motivational quotes, meditation, mindfulness, relaxation techniques, and healthy habits.

Having started smoking at the age of 13, I went on to be an addict for almost 40 years. As a youngster, I used my lunch money for cigarettes. The habit got a hold; as I grew up, it became more important than most things in my life. Indeed, cigarettes were probably the most important thing, despite being married and having five children. I smoked an average of 20 to 30 cigarettes a day. Over the years, I tried to stop and using different methods had varying degrees of success, but none had total success. The longest I ever went was three months, and that was through hypnosis. The problem is that when the hypnosis wears off, the desire to smoke returns, and because the mental addiction is never dealt with, it is only a short-term solution.

Numerous books have already been written on breaking the habit, and indeed some of them are exceptionally good. However, I felt there was a void in the market for a guide that carried absolutely no nonsense, dealt with the problem of smoking, and provided an action plan. The reality is that when we started smoking, we perceived it as being a pleasure. One thing is for certain, we didn't start smoking to be treated as outcasts, to give ourselves heartache, or to make life more difficult for ourselves. The days of smoking being an accepted pleasure are gone; the cost of cigarettes is ridiculous, but 20 percent of the world's population continues to smoke.

I know you will find this book a great benefit in your endeavor to stop smoking, and indeed I know you have the ability to stop smoking permanently. You must use your own mind, your own imagination, and your own will to make this happen, but the whole basis of this book is to make it simple and easy on yourself. It is not a chore, it is the end of an era, and indeed you can enjoy stopping smoking.

I stopped smoking in my early 50s at a time when I was under severe pressure. In fact, it was one of the most stressful periods of my life. I was in the process of selling my business, I had huge pressure upon me, but still I decided to stop smoking. My main motivation was health. I had imaginary illnesses, which were all put down to smoking. Thank God, they have not manifested since I stopped, and my worst fears have not come true. I was surprised to find it very easy to stop smoking, but only did so when I got my mind around the problem. You should adapt this book to suit yourself and to achieve what you want to do.

Enjoy stopping smoking permanently. Happy listening. Always remember as you start and go through this process, others have quit and so can you. You can and you will stop smoking.
