About this listen

Miller "Buck" Butterson has been banging his way through life ever since a puck to the face fixed his messed-up front teeth. After five years in the NHL, deflecting goals on the ice and scoring them with puck bunnies, Miller has decided he's ready for a girlfriend. A real, nonbunny girlfriend to take on dates and not jump into bed with after five seconds of conversation.

Miller thinks he's found that woman in his teammate's sister. Except, unlike team captain and all-around nice guy Alex Waters - who happens to date his stepsister - Miller's media reputation as a manwhore is well earned. Beyond that minor detail, Miller doesn't know the first thing about relationships or the time and effort they require.

Miller learns - eventually - that if he wants to make Sunshine "Sunny" Waters fall for him, he's going to have to do a whole lot more than show her his stick skills in the bedroom.

Nearly gave this 2 stars

Very mediocre story filled with characters you just want to shout at in frustration. Lots of sections are unnecessarily long and detailed without adding anything to the story which makes it drag as a read. I don’t mind long books, but the words have to count and add value. None of the characters or the story left a mark. Left with a sense of disappointment and feeling unfulfilled now it’s finished.

Another great story

Absolutely loved this. The narration was great even though it was only read by the man in the story. Its funny, a bit sad here and there but mostly great.I am gradually working my way through this authors audio books and enjoying them.

Miller 'Buck' Butterson has fallen hard for his teammates' sister, Sunshine.😍 He's trying to clean his puck bunny image up, but due to his friendships and public perception, everything just looks sleazy even if it isn't!😕

He begs 'Sunny' to believe in him. To trust that his intentions towards her are pure and from his heart. Unfortunately, his teammate, her best friend, and her ex-boyfriend all seem against him. The puck bunny posts aren't helping either. Can his step sister Violet, who's engaged to his teammate, help him convince everyone he's genuine?🙏🏼

This is a funny, heartwarming, and romantic story. The narrator does such a great job at conveying all the different characters. I especially loved his portrayal of Miller & Violet together. It had me in tears of laughter, Violet is so nuts!😂🤣

Perfect, I love Miller

Book 2 of the Pucked series following Violet's brother Buck and Alex's sister Sunny. This can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend you read Pucked first. Buck is a player (or was, until Sunny came into his life), he's trying is best to stay on the straight and narrow. Unfortunately for Buck, he seems to be a "Puck Bunny"magnet and finds himself, through no particular fault of his own, regularly on social media in compromising positions with other women. Enter Sunny's ex "Bushman," to try and sweep her off her feet and win her back, and we end up with some serious laugh out loud moments. I really felt for both Sunny and Buck. Sunny struggling with her trust issues, and Buck dealing with social media and dyslexia. I also loved Buck and Violet's relationship, so inappropriate, yet hilarious, gives a new meaning to no secrets within the family. Wonderful story, beautifully written with lots of chemistry between all the characters. It did take me a few chapters to really get into the book. Not as good as book 1 in my opinion, but I'm still looking forward to reading about more of the players in the next book.
Joe Arden narrating, just perfect.

Fantastic audio!

Love hearing Helena Huntings words brought to life and the narrator was fantastic at giving us Miller Buck Butterson story.
The journey between Miller and Sunny is not an easy one with a horrendous amount of bumps along the way that are all between hilarious and heart aching... I must say as per usual I smiled ALOT while listening to this story!
Off to buy book 3 straight away for my next walk.

Not enough story and no sport interest

This overlong monologue, where the story occasionally interrupts the flow, has engaging character development but little else. It has none of the energy or complexity of a sports romance. Sport only serves to add muscles.
