Enlightening, raw, and a brilliant read.

Prison, a Survival Guide, is an honest, outstanding account of life inside. Carl Cattemole widened my knowledge and awareness to the ripple of people affected by a family members incarceration. By miles the most interesting and informative book I’ve read. A must read for every prisoner and prisoners family. You are not alone with your fears.

an essential read for all british citizens

if more people were aware of the justice system that affected them in so many ways, the quicker something might change.

A Must Read

Carl Cattermole is excellent in this book, it’s very well written, well read and exceptionally informative.
I have long believed the UK prison system needs a huge overhaul and this has cemented those feelings. I particularly like the way he explains ways to help newly released offenders, something I think we certainly fail on in this country, which is why the recidivism rate is so high.
All in all I urge everyone to read or listen to this book. I for one would like to contact the author, and especially the female ex-offenders to discuss this issue further.
