Summary
A new Prism has appeared, but the monster waves are coming faster than ever.
Will humanity's hope prove to be too little, too late?
Meanwhile, Aden has too many voices to listen to. This is his life, but it turns out much of what he thought he knew about his past may be false.
Is it really destiny if it has been tinkered with?
He will have to find his place while building his team, training, and facing off against new threats.
Perhaps the worst monsters are those wearing human skin.

A fantastic second book
Even if this series touches on the boundaries of what I'm comfortable with more than once, I really love it.
Dunno how that works, but it strangely does.
Can only recommend it!

We all wanted this, we know it
If you like this type of story then you will love this one. It has litrpg, supers, post apocalyptic dystopian world, and harem. I got this free copy for an honest reviw and honestly after I started listening I just couldn't stop and listened right until the end. This is a great continuation to the story, with plot twists, more superpowers and everything we all wanted with still great surprises. The narrators are great and you can just feel yourself wanting to know what happens next. 100% recommended!

At the edge if my seat!
At my request I received a copy of this audiobook in order to give a fair and unbiased review
Genre: LitRPG Super hero adventure with harem elements
Summary:
Aden is prism and everyone wants a piece of him. Worse they want to dictate who he bonds with. If Aden wants to stay his own man hard calls are necessary as well as the love and support of the women around him.
LitRPG system: Stat based with powers and power types. Fits perfectly with both the hero theme and the augmented human aspects of the book
Power dynamics in harem: The Main Character is central and in charge, but respects and listens to the members. Girls all have their own lives and goals, but have a strong loyalty once bonded.
Explicit/adult material: Explicit and steamy. The powers make for some interesting scenes.
Narration:
Voice diversity: Each character has distinct voices and conversation is always easy to follow.
Pacing and intonation: Excellently done. Very immersive, suddenly the book was over.
Sex scenes: Very well done. As immersive as the rest of the story.
Overall: 5 / 5 stars.
The book’s strengths.
- The characters have depth and are interesting.
- I find the politics and power plays of the society interesting.
- There are less action scenes than in the fist. They are still excellently done and for me it was a good level.
- Less action but more time devoted to get to know the girls and the world. I love it.
- Great narration
The book’s weaknesses.
- The book does offer some challenging scenes. Some might struggle with some more FF focus FFM scenes.
- There is a subplot that robs the MC of some agency, which I could see being tough for those for whom self-insertion is important.
Overall: 5/5 stars
Though I can see why this book is a bit dividing I think the dividing parts are foreshadowed well and make sense with the characters and their world.
I enjoyed the book immensely and can't wait to see where it goes from here.

compromised Mc
The world is great, the story interesting. most of the characters are perfect. full disclosure I'm writing this after a point of the book that disappointed me greatly as it feels the mc did something not in character. ignoring his conviction for love and caring for someone. and bonding with someone evil.
spoiler warning.
his bonding Queenie just felt gross. I hate when authors give options for a harem and drop great characters for worse ones. it's why I stopped reading Bruce's books it might be my nail in the coffin for this series. A real shame. the only thing that could fix this his her dying. She is a cardi b level character the kinda force that starts with r. she hadn't done it to the mc, but I hate her.
I may change this review if I ever come back to the book after what I feel is a breaking of the mc as I don't feel it's in character to do what he did.
the near end of the book helps a bit but doesn't change my complaints
Also the VA for the females that are Spanish sound Canadian instead. makes it goofy over sexy.

Interested to see how the rest of the books unfold
The MC is too American with his phrases, and that coming from a Texan. I cringed every time I heard “Stars and stripes”.
I like the range of the female narrator but her Queeny’s Latin voice sounds way more Asian.
I have a ton of hope for the writers though! And will definitely be keeping up with their work.

I had to stop the book halfway….
I normally give top rating to most Audible books….except those with weak main characters. I HATE weak main characters. It’s almost as though the author is a woman with a male pseudonym having the MC act as a man in her vision. But the MC is overly emotional and whiny instead of strong and logical. Additionally, the MC makes stupid mistakes ( like falling into obvious traps) and he prances around with a fake holier than though persona that got stale in book one. I’m not certain I’ll stick around for book 3 because while the MC is strong stat wise he is overall weak mentally.

Disappointed
There’s a part in this book I just became disgusted. The main character became completely contrary to everything he stood for and made decisions that were just appalling. I stepped away for near a week to get over it and return to the book but I couldn’t. Had to drop the series. Unfortunate it too because I was really enjoying it…

I was quite concerned with the warning in the opening of the book and Aiden is an idiot in some ways but you can't just put the book down it just pulls you into the story amazing series amazing characters and a truly amazing outlook on Powers.
Just simply amazing

An interesting continuation
I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the sequel. My only real issue is with some of the voices used for characters. Everyone lives in the remnants of North America with limited to no interaction with the rest of the world, but anytime a character is described as having distributive features like being of Hispanic descent, or Indian descent they have to have that accent. Of course I can't leave out my personal favorite, the girl with strawberry blonde hair which means she has an Irish accent.

MC is a self righteous tool.
It's a shame but the MC ruins this story. His morals only apply to himself and not the rest of humanity. He talks about personal freedoms then waterboards a guard. That's just one example. I won't be finishing this book

the stats get too much involved in a storyline
too many times the story broke with stats. even repetitive stats. I enjoyed the political side of the story, anytime the story started to develop somehow stats would get in the way and slow the story up. That's even slowed down a sex scene.

Great Story Thus Far
This story keeps getting better as is continues. David Burke has really done a great job writing this story. The story has progressed, improved and deepened the whole time. I have really been enjoying this story and the direction its been progressing. I cant wait for the next book to be released.
The narration by Jonathan Waters and Maeve York has been awesome. This duo was definitely the right choice for this series.

Great story
This is only my 3rd Litrpg novel . After the first, I didn’t think I would continue with this genre. But, with some urging from a friend, I have Prism Academy book 1 a try. I’m hooked. I love this story line and the characters are so likeable. Can’t wait for book 3 to come out on audio. In the meantime, I’ll be listening to another of this authors books.
