Awful beyond words
The most boring audio book I have ever had the misery to endure. Dull delivery doesn't even begin to cover it. The narrator's English accent is appalling and the examples given are complex and inappropriate. I listened to 4 chapters with increasing horror. Avoid like the plague.

lots of grammar and phrases but where's the stories?

Far too many typos and mistakes
It's incredible how many typos and mistakes there are in this, otherwise, it would be pretty effective. Just one example of many: in the first story, Roberto says to his teacher, Mrs Nevesh, "obrigada" instead of "obrigado." Both the speaker and the PDF have this error. As a beginner that greatly confused me as I can't find any examples of males using "obrigada" in that way, even when addressing women. Is that a way of formal speech? If so, it was never explained.

Unlistenable
I was very excited to learn Portuguese. When I noticed that this title included 22 hours of instruction, I was sold.
Unfortunately, I found the narrator's strong English accent absolutely impossible to listen to. The content may be good, but I couldn't get past the narration.

Learn Portuguese for Beginners
I have tried to learn Portuguese many ways. This book is one of the best. It repeats the words, so my vocabulory increases and I feel more secure in Portuguese.

I am an intermediate Portuguese learner and I find this a very manageable book. The vocabulary section after each chapter is extremely helpful and the stories are interesting!

Fun stories with lots of surprises
Fun stories with lots of surprises, great pace. It is so encouraging to be able to read and understand the stories, even as a beginning Portuguese student. I am very glad I found this book!!

Boring and not well adapted for audio.
The reader’s thick accent in English made it difficult to understand what he was saying in English. The short stories have many Portuguese sentences in a row, and then they go back and read the entire English translation, as if one can remember the individual words at that point. The reading of many conjugations, all together, is extremely tedious.

Extremely difficult to understand the instructor’s English.
The guy they hired for this has a very heavy accent, when he translates a word from Portuguese to English he uses Portuguese pronunciation it seems. I cannot understand 1/3 of what he’s saying. For example he pronounces litter like liter, he says “clow” instead of cloud. He swallows his words and uses nasal sounds when speaking English. All the good ratings are puzzling to me. This was kinda a waste of money and not conducive to efficient learning.
